Alleged Samsung Galaxy Note II front panel spotted

More and more details seem to be emerging of Samsung’s Galaxy Note II as we creep closer to the company’s IFA 2012 event on August 29th. This time it’s a leaked case part, with nowhereelse.fr throwing up an image of what seems to be the front panel for the handset, complete with a ruler in order to judge the screen size. The screen seems to come in at around 14 cm diagonally, which would confirm the 5.5-inch screen size that has been alluded to in previous reports.

Galaxy Note II flexible display tipped (but don’t expect a bendy phablet)

The Galaxy Note II is expected to be announced at the end of the month ahead of IFA 2012, but there’s always time for some last minute details. According to a report from the Korea IT Times, Samsung will make use of an 5.5-inch AMOLED panel in the Galaxy Note II featuring unbreakable plane display technology along with a plastic substrate. That will allow the South Korean manufacturer to reduce the thickness of the phone, possibly leaving room for a larger battery.

Samsung released the international version of the Galaxy Note in November 2011, and not long afterwards LG announced its intentions to release its own 5-inch smartphone. Samsung confirms Galaxy Note 2 debut imminent

Samsung's August 29 event at IFA 2012, confirmed yesterday, will indeed see the launch of the Galaxy Note 2 the company has reportedly revealed. Although the invitations Samsung issued yesterday to the Berlin press conference did not indicate which device or devices would be on the agenda, the Korean firm supposedly told Reuters that "we plan to unveil the next Galaxy Note at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event."

Samsung Galaxy Note II benchmark reveals quad-core CPU, 720p display

A report from DDaily last week indicated that the Galaxy Note II would debut on August 30th in Berlin before the start of IFA 2012. Now benchmarks for the handset have appeared on GLBenchmark, showing that the device will run a quad-core Exynos processor as rumored. The clock speed looks to be 1.6Ghz, 200Mhz higher than the quad-core CPU found in the Galaxy S III. That falls nicely in line with the clock speeds between the Galaxy S II and original Galaxy Note.
