There’s a device out there made by LG, one that’s got the most powerful dual-core processor LG has ever offered on a handset, one that’s got 4G LTE speed capabilities right along with the ultra-powerful motor. This device has a few names already, a code name LG LU6200 and an obvious street-name, that being the LG Optimus LTE, and now we’ve got a few in-real-life photos of the beast as well. While this isn’t the first dual-core smartphone LG has ever offered, their first being the LG Optimus 2x (aka T-Mobile G2X, the world’s first dual-core smartphone in its first iteration), it’s certainly the most impressive.

This device is said to carry the world’s first AH-IPS LCD display on it’s monstrous 4.5-inch 1280 x 720 pixel resolution screen, and according to our source here today, it carries one of the biggest smartphone batteries on the market at 1830 mAh. That’s as big as the Galaxy S II, USA version or otherwise! Also according to the source we’re looking at today, this device will be launched as the LG Optimus LTE in Korea on the U+ carrier, and is still just to be classified as the model number LG LU6200 for a worldwide release until a more crafty name can be nailed down.

What we’re seeing here also around it’s lovely 8-megapixel camera is a rather unique back panel covering its battery and microSD card slot. It’s got a sort of checker square grid with several different tones. LG has what your humble narrator notes is one of my favorite smartphone builds of all time. Curved Gorilla Glass forever! Thusly this case (even though the display appears to be totally flat) gives one great confidence for the future of LG. Can’t wait to see this one in person!

BONUS: this device will be the first to host the game Street Fighter IV for a period of three months EXCLUSIVELY. That’s a pretty big deal if you’re a Street Fighter fanatic, a pretty big deal indeed.

Since T-Mobile pulled the LG G2x from its online store yesterday, there has been plenty of speculation on what’s going on and what’s to happen next. At first it was thought that the phone was pulled due to quality issues, but that was later rebutted by T-Mobile reps saying that popularity and inventory constraints were the reason. And although they admitted to some issues that needed fixing, the phone is apparently still popular enough that they intend on raising its price.

TMoNews just got their hands on a screenshot of an internal memo that clearly marks the G2x for a price increase starting tomorrow, May 27th. According to the memo, the T-Mobile G2x has been so popular since its launch last month that high demand has resulted in inventory constraints. The carrier is currently working with LG to up the supply, but in the meantime must raise the price.

They are perhaps taking a page from the recently launched Verizon DROID Charge by bumping up the G2x now to $299 with a new two-year agreement. Throw in a mail-in rebate and the G2x becomes yours for $249. The memo mentioned very little about the quality issues, with only a note that a “small percentage” of customers have complained about some issues, which an upcoming update should resolve. We still think quite positively of the phone, check out our full review of the G2x.

According to TMoNews, a search for the device on the carrier’s website currently only turns up G2x accessories, as the the device itself has mysteriously disappeared.

The G2x has been plagued with issues including random reboots, light leaks, and other quality control issues since its release. Some initially thought the G2x simply had firmware issues, but the recent disappearance could suggest much more serious hardware issues.

T-Mobile is also set to have a midnight sale today, but tweeted late last evening that the devices to be offered for the sale will now be the G2 and the Sidekick 4G, instead of the G2x. This is an interesting development, and we’ll keep you posted on whether T-Mobile confirms any issues for the G2x. In the meantime, you can take a look at our review of the G2x.

We’re the recipients of a press event invite that no less than tells us what’s going to be inside, both the T-Mobile G2x and the LG G-Slate. These are two devices that are sure to blast forth from the edifice of Android and fall directly into the homes of thousands and millions of homes across America, creating enjoyment for those who receive them. We’ve had looks at both devices in one way or another in the past, and here we’re sure to get yet another.

Also inside this event will be a couple of musical groups, one of them called Dev and the Cataracs, the other by the name of DJ Chachi. Without a doubt this event is set to totally relax us in the sun with fine drinks and snacks, right? No way, man! We’re going to be scrambling with super authoritative skill to get you all the details you need to be informed first! Then YOU can do the relaxing for us.

What we’ll be seeing, again, if you’re not familiar with these devices, is the LG G-Slate and the T-Mobile G2x. To see information on either of those devices, simply click their name and you’ll be brought to a portal with all the information we’ve got on either. Quickly though, one of the most important factoids about both is that they’re packed with NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 dual-core processor. That’s tight!

Seeya there!

Although no official announcements have been made yet, there are some reliable sources claiming that T-Mobile’s LG G2X and G-Slate are set to launch on April 20th, instead of the originally predicted March 23rd. The source comes from TmoNews, which also says that this date will be confirmed at CTIA later this month.

The LG G2X smartphone—also known as the LG Optimus 2—rocked its benchmark results on its pre-production unit running Android 2.2 Froyo. The G-Slate, LG’s bid in the tablet wars, will be a powerful Tegra 2 device that will be running Android 3.0 Honeycomb and sports some awesome specs including dual-camera 3D video capabilities.

TmoNews does warn that further delays are not beyond a possibility, and we sure are used to them by now when it comes to tablet devices. With Apple’s iPad 2 predicted to still rule the roost this year, its an exciting time to see whether these more powerful competing tablets can shake things up—if only they can all release on schedule.
