2013 Lincoln MKZ packs vast retractable roof

Ford has taken the wraps off of the 2013 Lincoln MKZ, the company's new midsize luxury sedan featuring a vast retractable panoramic roof and the latest iteration of SYNC with MyLincoln Touch. Markedly similar to the MKZ concept shown back in January, the 2013 MKZ pairs a choice of 2.0 four-cylinder, 3.7 V6 or 2.0 hybrid engines - with a choice of front- or all-wheel-drive - with Lincoln Drive Control ride balance, for what the company claims is the smoothest, most dynamic ride to-date. Ford unveils new twin turbo 2013 Explorer Sport

Yesterday Ford unveiled a new Explorer model that brings back the Sport nameplate. Years ago, the Explorer Sport could be had as a two-door version but this time out it appears the Sport is a four-door only. If you have a 2012 Shelby GT 500 sitting around, and you want more power, you need to check out the newly announced Shelby 1000. The car will make its official debut at the New York International Auto Show, and Shelby American will start taking orders after that official debut. Microsoft teams with customizers on Project Detroit Mustang

Microsoft is working with the custom car designers West Coast Customs on a project dubbed "Project Detroit." The vehicle used in the project is a 2012 Ford Mustang that is being tweaked and changed to look like a 1967 fastback Mustang. The 2012 Ford Focus Electric has been crowned the most efficient five-passenger car in America, receiving its official EPA ratings of 105MPGe, the electric equivalent to miles per gallon, with 110MPGe in the city and 99MPGe on the highway. Facebook friends Ford to make a “social” car

Facebook and Ford recently held a joint "Hackathon" event aimed at exploring new ways of making cars more social. About 30 engineers from both Ford and Facebook got together for the 24-hour event to rapidly develop prototype apps that would integrate Facebook's social elements with Ford's SYNC platform to create a seamless connected in-car user experience. Ford SYNC takes a European roadtrip with B-Max

Ford's SYNC system is one of the best uses of in-car technology out there that's included by a manufacturer - but since its inception in 2007 it's been relegated to North America. The company aims to end that sad state of affairs next week at the Geneva Motor Show, when it introduces SYNC to European customers in the new 2013 B-Max crossover. he optional add-on will be added to other models afterwards. Ford figures fleets of autopilot cars coming in next decade

Bill Ford Jr, head of Ford Motor Company, thinks over the next decade, there'll be fleets of autopilot cars cruising the highways around the world. That would be no surprise considering the work going into making autonomous vehicles already.
