Just last night, EVLeaks dropped some renders of the Galaxy S IV on Twitter, giving us a glimpse at what the new smartphone may look like when its eventually unveiled on March 14. However, it looks like those renders actually came from the device’s landing page on Expansys, an online electronics retailer. Furthermore, the tweet from EVLeaks has since been deleted. UPDATE: Expansys has since made clear that these renders come from their web designer and were not meant to be seen as actual images of the device – so cool your jets!

The landing page goes over some of the more important features of the Galaxy S IV, including that eye-tracking technology that we also heard about yesterday, called “Eye Scroll” and “Eye Pause.” While we know what Eye Scroll will do, Eye Pause was more of a mystery. However, according to the listing, Eye Pause “ensures you never have to pause your videos again if you have to glance away from your phone.” The Galaxy S IV will automatically pause videos if you look away from the screen.

Other than that, specifications look to be right on the money from what we’ve been hearing in the past. The new smartphone will come with a 5-inch 1080p AMOLED display protected with Gorilla Glass 3, as well as a quad-core Exynos 5 processor clocked at 1.7GHz, although the landing page mentions an 8-core chip with two quad-core CPUs. However, it’s rumored that the US version of the device will get a Snapdragon 600 clocked at 1.5GHz, but we’ll ultimately have to wait and see what Samsung decides to do.

The smartphone is also listed to have 2GB of RAM, and will come in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB flavors, with the option of inserting a microSD card that stores up to 64GB, making the total amount of storage a possible 128GB. There will also be a 13MP rear camera capable of shooting 1080p video at 60fps, along with a 2MP front-facer capable of recording 720p video at 30fps. The device will also come packing with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with a 2,500mAh battery to power the show. However, it’s important to take these specs with a grain of salt, as Expansys notes that these details could change.

The HTC Butterfly, or also known as the global version of HTC’s DROID DNA, has hit pre-order status in the UK thanks to online retailer Expansys, who posted up the listing today. However, while it looks like you can reserve your own unit starting today, the website doesn’t mention price or availability details, and we haven’t heard from HTC about a UK announcement.

Just a couple days ago, we heard that HTC’s 5-inch 1080p smartphone would be hitting China sometime this month, joining Japan and the US, but it seems the phone is also planned for a UK launch as well. We’re not sure if the listing was put up prematurely or if it’s the real deal, since it looks like you can go through the buying process and reserve one for yourself. The website says that they won’t charge you for the purchase until it gets shipped out.

UPDATE: We’ve heard word that these UK units may be grey-market imports, meaning that HTC hasn’t officially started offering them in the UK, so if you buy one of these units, you may not get the official HTC warranty and all that, so be sure to approach with caution for now.

This version for sale is for an unlocked and SIM-free model that comes in black. It’ll obviously sport the large 5-inch display with a 1080p resolution. The US version of the phone comes with a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.

The website lists similar specs with the UK version of the device, and we’re guessing a hefty price tag will accompany those specs. The recent China version will have a price of around $700, so we wouldn’t be surprised if the UK version ended up costing somewhere in that price range as well.

That’s the SIM-free and carrier-unlocked price, naturally, so if you head down to your carrier of choice they’ll probably be heavily subsidizing it in return for a two-year agreement. Still, from our hands-on with the Optimus 3D at MWC 2011 earlier this week, we’re not sure the 3D functionality is quite worth the expense.

Advent’s Vega tablet made a few headlines today after the 10-inch Android 2.2 slate went on sale and promptly sold out in two hours; now there’s another Tegra 2 based slate we’re curious about. Expansys is taking pre-orders for the POV Mobii TEGRA, a £285 tablet with WiFi b/g, HDMI and a 1.3-megapixel webcam, also running Froyo.

In fact, the Mobii TEGRA is surprisingly similar to the Advent Vega: both have 512MB of RAM, a microSD card slot and a USB Host port, along with a webcam. Looking at the few photos available on the POV (aka “Point Of View”) site, the ports and speakers look pretty similar to the Vega too, leading us to wonder whether this is the same ODM tablet with different brands slapped on.

Until the first Vega and first Mobii TEGRA units start arriving, however, there’s no way to know. Expansys doesn’t have an expected delivery date for the POV slate, and PC World doesn’t expect to get any more Vega models in until the end of next week at the earliest.

Amazon Germany, for instance, has the HTC HD7 listed for €599, albeit with no estimated release date. It’s not just HTC devices either; the retailer also has the LG Optimus 7 up for preorder at €499, also with no release estimates.

Interestingly, HTC told us in a WP7 pre-brief that their devices wouldn’t be offered SIM-free and unlocked for an unspecified period after launch, since the first wave of handsets were all carrier exclusives. If Amazon and Expansys are to be believed, that exclusivity period is a little under three weeks.

Update: Clove UK is also listing the HTC 7 Trophy, for £423 with initial stock expected at the end of October.

Update 2: Not so fast – HTC 7 Trophy preorders are being pulled all over, as Vodafone insists it has an exclusivity deal over the lifetime of the handset.

Nokia promised Q4 2010 availability for the new Nokia E7 business-centric QWERTY smartphone when they launched the Symbian^3 device back at Nokia World 2010, but according to retailer Expansys they might miss that window. Their new product page for the E7 suggests it’s due on Monday 10th January 2011.

They’ve also got it priced a fair bit higher than Nokia’s original suggestions: the Finnish company tipped a €495 sticker for the E7, but Expansys are currently asking the equivalent of €688. Obviously there’ll be subsidized deals when the E7 hits the carrier market, but it doesn’t bode well for SIM-free customers.

Still, there’s a long time to go until the end of the year, and we imagine Expansys are looking to factor in some wiggle room both in terms of price and availability. Nokia is yet to put up its own pre-order page for the E7, but we’re checking with the company as to whether there’s any change in the expected RRP or release.

Update: Nokia tells us that there is no change to the E7′s Q4 2010 ship window, nor their pricing. They point out that they have no influence over retailer pricing, and that Expansys – like other stores – set their own final figures.

That gets you a 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen, like the Nexus One, together with a 5-megapixel autofocus camera capable of 720p HD video recording. There’s also an HDMI port to hook up your TV and watch the resulting footage, together with DivX playback, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS.

Triband – 900/1900/2100 – HSDPA/HSUPA together with quadband GSM/EDGE round out the wireless connectivity, and there’s 2GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot to augment it. Keeping things ticking over is Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon processor. Acer hasn’t confirmed when – or if – the Stream will get an Android 2.2 update, which leaves us mildly cautious, but on specs alone the smartphone looks pretty tempting.

We’ll have to be honest, despite seeing the Huawei S7 launch at Computex we never really expected it to arrive in western markets. Happily it looks like our doubts were unfounded; UK retailer Expansys have the S7 – which runs Android 2.1 on a 7-inch display and packs both WiFi and 3G – up for preorder, with delivery expected in around eight days time.

Priced at £299.99, the S7 holds up pretty well to its most likely rival, the Dell Streak. At 7-inches the S7 has a bigger touchscreen than the 5-inch Streak, though both run at WVGA resolution, but Huawei also throw in 802.11n support along with the regular WiFi b/g. There’s also a USB Host port for wired peripherals, rather than the Streak’s proprietary port.

On the downside, the CPU is a 768MHz chip rather than the Dell’s 1GHz, there’s no internal storage only a microSD slot, and the camera is a 2-megapixel one rather than the 5-megapixels on the Streak. According to Expansys you do get access to the Android Market on the S7, but they’ve no details on battery runtimes or what bands the 3G modem supports. Still, we asked for more competition to the Streak, and it looks like the Huawei S7 is going to bring it.

Meanwhile Virgin Mobile are yet to confirm the exact launch date for their Wildfire, and nor have they confirmed pricing, but we’d imagine that the handset will be roughly the same as it is on T-Mobile and at around the same price. The smartphone has already shown up for SIM-free preorder at Expansys, priced at £249.99 ($357) and expected to arrive on July 26th.

The HTC Wildfire has a 3.2-inch QVGA capacitive touchscreen supporting multitouch, WiFi b/g, Bluetooth and UMTS/HSPA. It runs Android 2.1 complete with the latest version of HTC Sense, and includes a new Application Sharing app that makes recommending third-party software easier. More in our hands-on report.

The Legend comes in at £399.99 ($627) while its bigger Desire sibling is just a little more expensive, at £449.99 ($706). As for the HD mini, the Windows Mobile 6.5.3 devices is cheapest of them all, at £349.99 ($549).

All three are being sold SIM-free and unlocked, but HTC have said that carriers in all of the regions they plan to launch the smartphones intend to offer them, so you should be able to pick up a subsidized phone if you’re willing to sign an agreement. More details about the handsets in our videos, below.

In fact with an 18 month contract on T-Mobile – priced at £35 ($57) per month – you can take away the MILESTONE for £49.99 (8$1) instead. Either way, you’re getting a 3.7-inch 854 x 480 capacitive touchscreen, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, dualband (900/2100) HSDPA/HSUPA and a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and a dual LED flash.

In the box there’s an 8GB microSD card, wired stereo headset, data cable and mains adapter, but you can use your own headphones since Motorola have sensibly fitted the MILESTONE with a 3.5mm socket. For more on the handset, check out our review of the Motorola DROID, which is pretty much the same device bar using CDMA EVDO Rev.A rather than HSDPA/HSUPA, and the fact that it has Google Maps Navigation which is currently unavailable outside of the US.

Your money gets you a 3.5-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen, quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and triband (900/1900/2100) HSDPA, along with WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and a 5-megapixel camera. While the processor is capable of 1GHz speeds, Acer have taken the decision to underclock it to 768MHz, likely in response to the capabilities of the 1,350mAh battery.

At 12.5mm thick the Acer Liquid A1 isn’t exactly the most svelte Android handset around, and we’re not convinced by the black & white color scheme, but early previews have been reasonably impressed by its performance. Unlike HTC and Motorola, Acer haven’t done a huge amount of customization to the UI, so you’ll be living with a pretty standard install of Android 1.6 Donut.

It looks like the tipped release date for the Motorola MILESTONE in the UK really is December 7th, as Expansys are advertising that the European version of the Verizon DROID will arrive in eight working days from now. That tallies with the preorder listing spotted earlier this week, though the Expansys price is £10 higher at £449.99 ($743).

Your money gets you a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen running at 854 x 480, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 5-megapixel autofocus camera and Android 2.0; there’s also WiFi b/g, Bluetooth and HSDPA/HSUPA. Unfortunately while the MILESTONE has both GPS/A-GPS and a digital compass, there’s no Google Maps Navigation beta since that is still US-only; instead you get Motorola’s own MotoNav app.

There’s still no sign of the MILESTONE on either the Vodafone UK or O2 UK sites, despite the handset already being up for sale with the two carrier’s Germany counterparts. Interestingly, the Expansys listing claims to be the “exclusive” supplier of the unlocked MILESTONE in the UK. Check out our review of the Motorola DROID here.

The camera has an 8x digital zoom and LED flash, plus image stabilization, smile shutter and face detection. It can also record VGA-quality 30fps video. Meanwhile the smartphone supports SMS, MMS, POP, IMAP and Exchange email, has a microSDHC card slot and a mini-USB port, plus a standard 3.5mm headphone socket.

The XPERIA X3′s display is listed as measuring 4-inches and running at 800 x 400 resolution, and we’re assuming it’s a capacitive panel as has been the case to-date with Android handsets. No word on pricing or availability, but Expansys are accepting pre-order interest. Check out a video demo of the phone’s UI here.

If spending about the same as a couple of netbooks is shocking, bear in mind what your money gets you. The Touch Pro2 has a massive 3.6-inch 480 x 800 touchscreen, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, dualband 3G/HSDPA, WiFi b/g and Bluetooth 2.0, together with GPS, a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus and a touch-sensitive zoom control.

We spent some hands-on time with the Pro2 back at Mobile World Congress in February, and you can see the gallery and video here. We’re waiting to hear back from HTC’s PR people in the UK to see whether they’ll corroborate that June 12th launch date.

The world’s smallest full-featured PC is a title held by the OQO. It’s a small UMPC that’s been around for a few years, and OQO was due to release a follow up, the OQO Model 02+ early this year. However, due to financial troubles and other problems for the company, it looks like the OQO Model 02+ is not going to be released any time soon.

eXpansys sold the OQO through its site, and decided to pull the Model 02+ from the website. Pre-orders for the Model 02+ were canceled due to low stock and lack of information from OQO.

Dear Customer,

Unfortunately eXpansys has taken the decision, due to uncertainties
to stock availability of the OQO Model 2+, to remove the OQO model
from our web site.

While we try to keep the information on our web site fully up to date
with the status of each product, inevitably in some cases we are not
informed that a particular item is no longer available until after we
have orders for it.

We apologise for any inconvenience.
Regards

Order Processing
eXpansys

OQO saw a change in CEO’s when the CEO of OQO stepped down and was replaced by a company founder. The company is rumored to be in attempts to sell ownership. A moderator on the OQO Forums stated this:

I have been told by a few people in the know and also just from watching whats going on with OQO from reports on this forum. OQO is attempting to sell the company. It lacks the funds to keep going, cash is tight and work hours have been reduced. One has to wonder if it can still meet warranty claims as it starts to buy stock to build the 2+. I’m sorry to say this, but the 2+ might be the last OQO we see made. I don’t even think we will see it.
