LG Optimus 3D gets hefty price ahead of April release

LG's Optimus 2X Android 2.2 smartphone has gone up for pre-order via UK retailer Expansys, which is promising that the Tegra 2 powered superphone is expected to arrive on February 21 2011. Priced at £499.99 ($779) unlocked and SIM-free, the Optimus 2X has a 4-inch display and an 8-megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD video recording. Read The Full Story

Advent's Vega tablet made a few headlines today after the 10-inch Android 2.2 slate went on sale and promptly sold out in two hours; now there's another Tegra 2 based slate we're curious about. Windows Phone 7 devices aren't showing up on carriers in Europe until October 21st (and November 7th for North America) but that hasn't stopped preorders for unlocked, SIM-free devices from beginning to sprout.  Amazon UK and Expansys have both listed the HTC 7 Trophy for £429.99 (with delivery expected on or around November 8th), but that's not the only one so far. Nokia promised Q4 2010 availability for the new Nokia E7 business-centric QWERTY smartphone when they launched the Symbian^3 device back at Nokia World 2010, but according to retailer Expansys they might miss that window.  Their new product page for the E7 suggests it's due on Monday 10th January 2011. Acer's Stream Android 2.1 smartphone has just got an official UK launch date, though it's a little later than the previous August 3rd release tipped.  According to the press release, Expansys will be exclusively offering the Stream - complete with a 3.7-inch AMOLED WVGA touchscreen, 1GHz Snapdragon CPU and 5-megapixel camera - from August 9th, priced at £399 ($615), though the retailer's own product page is currently showing August 7th as the due-date.
