Mark Zuckerberg took the stage today at Facebook's event. He stated that the social network is "not building a phone and not building an operating system", but something that will make phones center around the people, instead of just the apps. He says that Facebook wants to build "the best experience for every person on every phone" He says, "You don't need to fork android to do this, you don't even need to modify the operating system."

Facebook Home revealed: a family of apps for any Android device
This week Facebook has revealed a software experience for any Android device they call “Home.” This experience is a family of apps for any Android device that’s been teased to work on not just the HTC device we’ve already been teased with, but any Android device you’ve got in your pocket right now. This system is build around people, not apps, as Zuckerberg spoke about, and is not a full re-work of Android.

We're here at Facebook's phone announcement, and they haven't yet announced anything, but CEO Mark Zuckerberg is on stage talking about phones and apps, and how people use their phones. HTC first Facebook phone press photo leaked
Those of you still skeptical about the possibility of an HTC Facebook Phone can toss in the rest of your chips – there’s been a full leak of the so-called “HTC first” this afternoon. Does the HTC Facebook Phone belong in your pocket?
This week the Facebook Phone has been revealed. Unofficially, of course, but in a run-down of the software that comes within the device more in-depth than we’d otherwise be skeptical about. What we’ve got here is a midrange smartphone from HTC that runs the big news: Facebook Home. This software is at once a simple app for Android AND a user interface that takes over Android fully. The HTC smartphone hardware is almost like an afterthought.
HTC “Facebook phone” Android software integration tipped
When the original Facebook phone was introduced, it was created by HTC, and it certainly didn't do very well on the market. With both the HTC Salsa and the HTC ChaCha having been released and selling so few units that they didn't warrant a follow-up in the many, many quarters that followed, it doesn't seem very logical that the social network and the manufacturer would want to create such an amalgamation again. And it's not as if HTC is swimming in cash at the moment, either.

Facebook event to reveal “real” Android app (not a phone)
If you've been following the Facebook press events that have occurred over the past couple of years, you know one thing is rather apparent: they love to hold press conferences. Facebook April 4 event invite teases Android-related announcement
Facebook has sent out invitations to an event on April 4 at its place in Menlo Park, California. What's it about? We don't know exactly, but the invite says "Come see our new home on Android," and so the two most likely options seem to be either a new Facebook app or a Facebook-related Android operating system.
