BlackBerry Tour 9630 specs leak: Arrives in Canada mid-July

It looks, judging by these images, like someone has been faxing something they shouldn't have, but when the leak is a detailed spec-sheet for the BlackBerry Tour 9630 we won't quibble over it coming on thermal paper.  According to MobileSyrup's source, the Tour 9630 will arrive on Canadian carrier Bell in mid-July, bringing with it an HVGA 480 x 360 display, 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera with flash, quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 2100MHz UMTS/HSPA and 800/1900MHz EVDO Rev.A.

The Amazon Kindle may be sitting pretty as the best-known ebook reader out there right now, but all that could change if some of the new breed of e-ink devices have their way.  Computex 2009 has seen a few new designs introduced, often packing various wireless technologies and/or touchscreens.  IAC stacks up the wireless, with WiMAX, EVDO and WiFi, while Netronix has been showing multiple sizes from 6-inches through to 9.7-inches.

A lot can happen in five months. Announced to dropped jaws at CES back in January, the Palm Pre has captured attention in a way usually only Cupertino can. Tightly patrolled demos at intervening tradeshows have only added to the allure; now, on June 6th, it's Palm and Sprint's chance to see whether hype adds up to sales. SlashGear have been living, breathing and sleeping Pre for the past couple of weeks: read on for our full review.

It almost seems unnecessary to go over the Pre's hardware: it's been pored over since the CES launch. As well as the obvious things - the 3.1-inch 320 x 480 capacitive touchscreen, slide-out hardware QWERTY keyboard, multitouch strip under the display and 3-megapixel camera on the back - there's EVDO Rev.A, WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and a multitasking-capable processor lurking inside.

BlackBerry Tour 9630 spotted in Verizon inventory

The BlackBerry Tour 9630 has made an appearance in Verizon's internal inventory systems, although according to the tipster the smartphones themselves are not yet in stock.  Expected to go on sale as of July 13th, the BlackBerry Tour is believed to sit underneath the BlackBerry Bold in terms of range position, with a price tag of $199 with a two-year contract

As for specifications, RIM are yet to make anything official but the Tour 9630 is believed to be a cross between their Curve and Bold handsets.  It will have EVDO Rev.A connectivity, together with quadband GSM for global roaming, a 480 x 320 display and a 3.2-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities.
