Multi-card USB readers – why is this concept more well played? It IS played though, even though it might not be well spread. Here’s a couple for you from Elecom, available in Japan (or over the internet through GeekStuff4U, which is in Japan too, but online, and online is everywhere!) One is the multi-card stand-up reader MR-C27 which reads up to four SD/SHDC or SDXC cards at a time – supporting cards up to 64GB. The MR-SMC06 is a dual-card USB stick or thumbkey which has no internal memory in and of itself but has two microSD or microSDHC slots. Super cute and super handy!

Both of these fine items can be found on GeekStuff4U and I’m sure your everloving nerd friends would just LOVE to have them for a holiday gift – bank on it. The MR-C27 multicard is [here] and the MR-SMC06 seems to be sold out or just gone for the moment, but that link’ll find it for you when it’s back up.

Elecom is on a roll with wireless gadgets lately, especially those that take advantage of Bluetooth connectivity. After yesterday’s unveiling of their brand new Bluetooth wireless keyboard, featuring integrated left- and right-click mouse buttons and a trackball, this new wireless mouse seems to be the perfect addition. It’s part of Elecom’s M-BT6BL series, and if you like color options, the new mouse has them.

Of course, we should also point out that, just like the Bluetooth keyboard before it, this new mouse is scheduled to land in Japan well before it launches anywhere else. So, if you’re liking what you see, then you’ll have to make a trip to get your hands on it, at least for now. But, to get your hands on Elecom’s first Bluetooth 3.0 wireless mouse, it may be worth it, right?

Features wise, the mouse measures in at a small 74.3mm x 52.3mm x 33.4mm, and it weighs only 43g without any batteries installed. But, if you need to put batteries in it, you’ll need to find yourself a pair of AAAs. The mouse features 800/1600 DPI resolution, and it will be made available in Japan some time in December. You’ll be able to choose from red, white, or black.

If you happen to find yourself in Japan, and you’re currently in dire straits looking for a wireless keyboard, then perhaps the Elecom Bluetooth wireless keyboard fits the bill. It’s a standard, compact keyboard that features a small profile, and yet a full keyboard, making sure that your typing experience isn’t compromised.

The keyboard is part of Elecom’s TK-FDP021 series, and measures in at only 266.2mm x 127.1mm x 19.2mm. Considering it’s a portable keyboard, one might imagine that they would need to carry around their mouse, too. That’s not the case this time around, as the Elecom Bluetooth keyboard features an integrated trackball, as well as integrated left- and right-click mouse buttons. The trackball is located on the top-right of the keyboard, while the buttons are on the top-left.

The Elecom Bluetooth wireless keyboard comes in either a silver or black color, and both of them are available now for pre-order. The price? 13,280 yen. You can order one right now, and the suspected launch date is by the end of November, but the site does say that the official date could change.

Elecom have announced two new solid-state drives, the 8GB and 16GB nanoSSD ESD-IDSAA Series, which are designed to slot directly into a SATA motherboard slot. Measuring 25 x 39 x 6.5 mm, the nanoSSDs can be used as startup drives on a main system or, Elecom suggest, the primary drive on a compact Mini-ITX setup.

Despite the diminuative scale, the data transfer speeds are still fair. The Elecom SSDs manage 75MB/s read rates and 30MB/s write-rates, and of course there’s no noise and cooling requirements are minimal.

An auxiliary power cable – which gets its juice from a molex pass-through – is also supplied in case the Vcc pin from the SATA port isn’t sufficient to power the nanoSSD. No word on pricing, but pre-orders should apparently already have started in Japan.
