Atom N550 benchmarks suggest doubled performance over N450

It seems ASUS were playing silly beggars at Computex this year, with their demo Eee PC 1015PN and 1015N netbooks both labelled as using Intel Atom N475 processors whereas actually they packed Intel's newer dual-core Atom N550 chips.  NotebookItalia spotted the discrepancy - the correct processors showed up in the system integration - and promptly ran some benchmarks to see quite how much of a boost the N550 brings over previous generation netbooks.  The good news is that the N550 bests not only the N450 but some Intel CULV chips.

ASUS Eee PC 1215N: dual-core 1.5GHz Atom, NVIDIA Ion, Optimus & July release?

More details on the ASUS Eee PC 1215N are seeping out, ahead of the netbook's expected debut on May 13th, and it's shaping up to be a pretty impressive ultraportable.  According to AllAboutEeePC the 1215N will indeed have the new dual-core 1.5GHz Pine Trail Atom N500 processor expected to hit production in July, together with NVIDIA's Ion GPU.  However, unlike the Eee PC 1215PN, the 1215N will support NVIDIA Optimus for automatic graphics switching.

ASUS Eee PC 1018P caught in wild: USB 3.0 and 18mm thick

Of the new netbook models ASUS unveiled at CeBIT last month, the most interesting has to be the Eee PC 1018P.  Toting not only Intel's latest Pine Trail Atom N455 and N475 processors, the netbook has Bluetooth 3.0 and USB 3.0 connectivity along with the promise of 10hrs runtime.  TechInStyle.tv have got their hands on the 1018P, and the brushed aluminum chassis certainly doesn't let down the high-spec guts.
