I mean if you really are working to get the public to use solar power more, you need to make it cost efficient, attractive, and something the general public could see themselves using. Okay, this product attempts to pull out lacy details, making it almost attractive, but it comes up short in several other areas.

First of all, it’s solar powered lingerie. Solar power works by gathering energy, via the sun, meaning the panel has to be able to be in direct sunlight. It just ends up coming off as a wormy guy trying to get women to walk around in their bra.

Engineers Without Borders attended the recent Makers Fair, and brought their low-cost wind turbine along to demonstrate. Intended to provide power for LED lighting in off-grid locations, the vertical turbine uses simple plastic or canvas blades and steel tubes, using a cheap DC motor (reversed) to create electricity. The device can managed 10-15 watts , sufficient to charge a 12-volt battery, and the upright design makes it more sturdy in the face of poor weather conditions and strong winds.

Dell’s Bamboo Eco Computer

I have come across the occasional bamboo device, keyboards and mice are what I’ve seen the most. Dell has decided to create a eco-friendly computer one that stands out quite a bit from the crowd. Not only does it feature a bamboo shell, it is filled with recycled materials like old bottles and milk jugs.
