Amy Hennig joins EA Games to work on new Star Wars’ title

EA has announced that Amy Hennig, who worked on the Uncharted franchise, has joined Visceral Games. Hennig left Naughty Dog last month, and has apparently decided to come on-board with EA specifically to work on a new Star Wars game. EA secured the gaming rights to StarWars after Disney Purchased it from LucasFilm, then shuttered their in-house game development team.

Titanfall Matchmaking v2 released as BUILD 2014 sings Azure praises

This week at BUILD 2014, representatives of Microsoft’s cloud computing technology Azure spoke up on the launch and continued serving of Titanfall. The game’s sessions are all hosted on the cloud - over 100,000 Azure virtual machines were being used on launch day. Also hosted in the cloud - as the entire game is there, as it were - is matchmaking, now hitting its second version, live today.

While you may not find the Titanfall Matchmaking System to be perfect, there’s a new "Improved Matchmaking Beta" system out today for Titanfall players of all types. You’ll find this option directly below the rest of the "Classic" modes of gameplay, connected (for now) to Attrition alone. This system is - make sure you remember this - in BETA mode for now, so don’t expect too much magic right off the bat.

In a move that’s all too rare in our modern profit-by-download world of DLC packs for games, Respawn Entertainment has revealed that they’ll be pushing new game modes to Titanfall for free. Sitting aside from the normal DLC packs - which will cost cash - EA Games and Respawn Entertainment will be sending up downloads for a variety of game modes to add to the Classic Modes list already in order. This news comes not long after the first big patch was made to Titanfall this past weekend.

We may be living in an age when LucasArts is dead, but EA Games are not about to let the Star Wars gaming universe fall to the wayside. This week it’s been stated by Andrew Wilson, Chief Executive Officer of Electronic Arts (EA), that they’d be pushing forth with a new model for the Star Wars gaming universe. Much as Batman’s gaming presence was made a formidable force with the "Arkham" series of games, so too will Star Wars be reborn in EA’s first title.

Titanfall Xbox 360 release delayed to April 8th

Though we’d originally been informed that the Xbox 360 version of Titanfall would be pushed at the same time as the Xbox One version, then that it’d come a bit later in March, now it’s headed for April. This change has been made due to the Bluepoint Games development of the game not being entirely perfect before launch, moving the launch from March 25th now to April 8th. The PC (through Origin) and Xbox One versions of Titanfall have been available since March 11th, 2014.
