EA to release new cover art, game roster in response to Favre trade

I don't know if any of you keep up on football or not, but Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre has been dominating the headlines over the past couple of months. From talk of coming out of retirement to playing for a different team, all eyes have pretty much been on him. Well the dust has settled, and although he did decide to go back to the Packers, it was only for a short while, as he has been traded to the New York Jets. So what does all of this have to do with video games? He happens to be on the cover of Madden '09 in his famous #4 Green Bay Packers jersey. EA has been quick to respond to the recent events surrounding the trade of Favre to the New York Jets. They have promised to do two things in order to make the game as true-to-life as possible. First, they are going to make a downloadable alternate cover which will feature Favre in his new Jets jersey. Second, they will have a downloadable roster update on August 11 which will appropriately place Favre in the New York Jets roster. Read The Full Story

EA says no more exploiting licenses with crappy games

Every time I walk down a gaming isle and see a game based off of a really bad movie, I wonder why on earth it was even created. Then I remember that some gaming studios love to try and cash in on a license in the hopes that the movie will be a success. Who cares if the game is bad, so long as the movie is good. Unfortunately in the case of say, Catwoman, neither was exactly worth sitting the whole way through. EA to sell Crysis Warhead branded PCs

Can your PC run Crysis? If you keep your hardware up to date, then it's possible that you can run it fairly well at the lowest, or possibly even medium settings. However, when the game first came out, almost no one was able to even able to crank it up to High at a decent resolution. I'm not one of those people who denies that piracy is an issue. I fully understand that gaming studios lose a lot of money to pirates each year, which means money that could be going towards development is lost. However, there are times when it's just easier to play a pirated version of a game, rather than your perfectly legit copy.
