E3 2012 may be the biggest show ever, new Wii U, Xbox and PS4 tease

If you can believe the rumors that are floating around right now, E3 2012 might be the biggest show ever. The rumors are pegging launch details of the Wii U to turn up at the show, and scuttlebutt says that the new Xbox and PS4 will be teased at the show as well. If the rumors come true it will be the first time all three new major consoles have been officially talked about during one event.

Nintendo Wii U Hands-on at E3 2011 [Video]

Nintendo has unveiled its next-gen console, the Wii U, and while the name may be vaguely familiar, the hardware has undergone a significant revolution. Gone is the Wiimote, to be replaced by tablet-style touchscreen controllers with their own front-facing cameras. We've been playing with the Wii U here at E3 2011; check out our first impressions after the cut.

E3 Nintendo Keynote Opens with Zelda Orchestra, Four New Zelda Titles

E3 Nintendo Keynote Opens with Zelda Orchestra, Four New Zelda Titles

Nintendo's opening keynote for E3 2011 on June 7th, 2011 began with a blast - a giant screen display showing off a massive collection of Zelda scenes from every single iteration of the game (or so it seemed) since the beginning of the series. One of the most legendary names in gaming Shigeru Miyamoto, aka the creator of The Legend of Zelda, is called on stage. His presentation includes a series of "live" songs from the game played by the in-house orchestra. Certainly a strange display for the 25th anniversary of the Zelda series.

Nintendo 3DS eShop landing on June 7

Nintendo 3DS eShop landing on June 7

The Nintendo 3DS is a cool little handheld and when we got our hands on it for a review back in late March we liked it well enough. We did have a few complaints though. The most notable was the lack of the digital eShop to buy download games and other stuff. If the lack of the digital shop is what has kept you from picking the 3DS up, that omissions will be remedied very soon. Engadget reports that the 3DS eShop will be available starting on June 7.

New HD Nintendo game console confirmed by sources

New HD Nintendo game console confirmed by sources

I have to admit that after a month or so of having my Wii console when it first launched the novelty of the controls wore off and the graphics were so bad that it ended up gathering dust while my PS3 got all the playtime. Nintendo might have wanted to convince gamers they didn’t want HD graphics, but we all did.

Why E3 won’t be as exciting as you think

Why E3 won’t be as exciting as you think

With E3 2010 just a few days away, it's now time to consider what Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft, and all the major developers will be delivering. The show is the biggest gaming confab of the year, and it stands to reason that all the secrets that developers and hardware companies have been keeping over the past year (or more) will be unveiled. That's certainly the case in the past. E3 has been home to console announcements, additions to major franchises, and much, much more.

Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3 Could See a Price Drop After E3

Just in case you weren't aware, it's almost June. And, other than iPhone's getting released, that generally means that a huge trade show is going to take place. E3, the largest of video game-centric shows is about to kick off, and there's going to be a few huge announcements in store for the event. One of them that might slip through the gate, though, and merely show it's head afterward, is a rumored price drop for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Nintendo 3DS Might Not be Called 3DS According to Satoru Iwata

Nintendo 3DS Might Not be Called 3DS According to Satoru Iwata

We really, really like the name 3DS. It's got a ring to it, if you ask us. And, let's face it: it gets right to the point. After all, we can pretty much assume that Nintendo will go ahead and place their new handheld gaming unit in the DS family, so why not just go straight for the jugular, and name it what we've all come to know and love? Apparently, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata doesn't feel the same way we do.
