This week the E3 Microsoft keynote has revealed more than just a little bit of information on the most widely anticipated shooter of 2012: Halo 4. This game is now set for November 6th, 2012, and will be developed by Microsoft-owned 343 Industries instead of Bungie Studios. Halo 4 cinematic and gameplay trailer revealed at E3
Nintendo 3DS XL with 4.3-inch 3D tipped for E3 reveal
Nintendo is reportedly readying an oversized version of the 3DS glasses-free 3D handheld, potentially the Nintendo 3DS XL, with a bigger display for launch at E3 2012 this week. The new version, so Japanese paper Nikkei claims, will use a 4.3-inch display rather than the 3.53-inch panel of the existing model.

Internet Explorer heading to Xbox 360 in fall
Microsoft has just confirmed that they will be bringing Internet Explorer to the Xbox 360 sometime this fall. The company has been full of announcements today thanks to its press event at E3 2012, where it's been revealing all sorts of new Kinect, Xbox, and Windows 8 integrations through a new SmartGlass feature.

Xbox SmartGlass official as second-screen feature
At this year's E3 convention, Microsoft revealed Xbox SmartGlass, a feature that will allow Xbox 360 users to view content on multiple devices at once. This feature will allow you to view a movie on a tablet then push it to a larger screen while the tablet continues to provide interesting content related to the movie you've pushed. This technology is not unheard of, groups like Qualcomm showing it off at CES 2012 with AllJoyn, but this iteration is based solely in the Microsoft world.

Wii U Miiverse unveiled: Mobile chat and more
Nintendo has revealed the Miiverse, the company's gaming social system designed to integrate with the Wii U console, offering avatars, chat, communities and more. Built around the Mii avatars, the Miiverse supports text and handwritten messages that can be accessed via a mobile browser such as on a smartphone or tablet, allowing Wii U gamers to quickly get help from their friends with trickier levels and challenges.

Nintendo reveals Wii U Pro Controller and tweaked tablet
Nintendo has kicked off its E3 2012 showing with an early glimpse of some new Wii U hardware, including the Wii U Pro Controller and a slightly redesigned tablet. The black gamepad eschews the touchscreen of the controller we’ve seen so far, making it more suitable for classic titles, with a pair of analog sticks, the usual bevy of D-pad and buttons, and a few shoulder triggers for good measure.
Microsoft ‘Smart Glass’ app tipped for E3
Apparently Microsoft is working on a brand new app for the Xbox 360 called, or at least code-named "Smart Glass." If visions of Google's Project Glass start dancing in your head, shake them away because this is nothing like the ambitious augmented reality program over at Mountain View. Let’s Face It: E3 Is the Best Show of the Year
Looking at all of the major conferences in the technology space, it’s hard to find one that easily stands above the others. After all, the Consumer Electronics Show is great, and Mobile World Congress is great for mobile customers. Even CTIA can be a winner.
But as far as I’m concerned, the upcoming E3 Gaming Expo, which kicks off on Monday, is the best technology-related show of the year.
Konami Castlevania 3DS game confirmed ahead of E3
As we go from the final weeks leading up to E3, to the final days, we start to make the transition from speculation to fact. Companies that are afraid of being overshadowed at the show typically tip their fare just ahead of E3. If you like the idea of ebooks, but hate the fact that you can't read them from 10 feet away on the living room sofa, Sony might have the solution to your problems. Okay, we're exaggerating a bit. Sony mulling cloud gaming purchase
Here’s an interesting little rumor: Sony is reportedly looking into streaming game services, and more specifically aiming to acquire either Gaikai or OnLive. Information has pointed towards Sony purchasing a cloud gaming company and announcing the buy at its E3 conference this coming Monday. Sources have told MCV that Sony is poised to sign an agreement with “a high profile cloud gaming firm.”
