Sony on notice: Gauntlet thrown by Wii U and Xbox SmartGlass

E3 2012 is racing at full steam, and already one thing is clear: Sony, for all its PlayStation 3 might, has a challenge on its hands from Microsoft and Nintendo. Whereas gaming so far has centered around a single, big screen and the most engaging, graphically-rich or multiplayer-involving titles, two of the three players have opened the door to multiple screens. Sony may have stitched together PS3 and PS Vita, but it’s looking increasingly left behind as its arch rivals each make their play.

Wii Fit U Pedometer tracks you outside the home

In a move that will have Nintendo once again praised for their reminding of gamers that they need to turn away from the television here and again, the Wii Fit U Pedometer has been revealed. This device will work with the Wii U on the game Wii Fit U specifically, having you flip it on our off depending on how much you want to record of the fitness you've got during your normal everyday life. NVIDIA unveils five new Tegra 3 optimized games at E3

This week the gaming world is getting a power jolt as the year's biggest gaming convention plays host to all the biggest names, not least of all NVIDIA with their brand new barrage of game reveals for Tegra 3. This week we’re seeing an E3 gaming convention roughly on-par with the past few years of presentations: lots of games, nothing really ridiculously ground-breaking, and just a few items that should have the gaming community holding on for more through the summer. First real Star Wars 1313 game play footage shown off at E3

If you follow gaming, you're paying attention to the E3 news, and you would've heard by now that a new Star Wars video game is being shown off at the show called Star Wars 1313. The 1313 in the title refers to level 1313 on the planet Coruscant, which is made up of thousands of levels. This particular level is where the underworld is based. Read The Full Story

PlayStation Mobile teams with HTC for mobile gaming greatness

This week Sony is bringing some gaming heat with no less than an announcement of attack on the mobile landscape, starting with the HTC One X. This announcement has Sony changing the name of their PlayStation Suite to PlayStation Mobile and making it clear that not only will HTC be their first third-party hardware partner, they’ll be working with other Android and Windows Phone groups as well.

PlayStation Wonderbook brings Harry Potter to life

This week the folks at Sony have revealed the first of many titles for a device called the Wonderbook – an accessory that works with the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Move. This device is a blank book which, with the PlayStation Move controller, comes to life as you view yourself in the camera on your screen. Basically you’ll have your PlayStation making your television a reflection of you with this book, but this book is then brought to life with augmented reality.

Sony PlayStation Plus bonuses boosted at E3

This week the folks at Sony's gaming sect have revealed a new selection of bonuses for subscribers to the premium service including 12 game downloads for free. This update to the program comes at Sony's set of announcements at E3 2012, adding to the lovely collection of bonuses you already get for your PlayStation 3.
