AT&T, Google, and Starbucks join the Power Matters Alliance

The Power Matters Alliance, which is a wireless power standards group formed by Duracell's Powermat and Procter & Gamble (parent company of Duracell), is aiming to create wireless power standards for smartphones and other devices under the IEEE's guidelines. Duracell Powermat unveils 24 Hour Power System

Wireless charging is still a cumbersome affair, requiring separate cases and adds-ons to make the magic happen. That’s still a problem with Powermat’s new products, but the company is trying to make things easier in remote locations with the Wireless Power Nation initiative. Pure Energy Solutions Wildcharge Pads

Pure Energy Solutions' technology was used within Duracell pads a year ago, but now they are selling them directly to consumers. These WildCharge mats come in different two different sizes and are capable of charging cellphones by laying them on the mat. A unique back cover that fits around the device will be required for the unit to charge like all pads before this one. Read The Full Story

Wireless charging has long been a possibility but not an entirely straightforward one, but that could change if Qualcomm has its way. The most recent Duracell Toy Report suggests that kids don't have no mo love for the Nerfs and Legos of our childhood. I say yours and mine because I'm relatively young for the world and I only got my first computer when I was in my teenage years, and I know the majority of the people on the internet still are people my age. Duracell Smart Power Products Review

SlashGear Week in Review – Week 34 2009

Here we go again with another week in review for your perusal. A mystery Android-powered MID tipped up this week looking very much like those renderings of the Apple tablet to my eyes. It's cool to see android showing up on so many devices. Logitech unveiled an update to the coolest racing wheel ever, the G25, called simply enough the G27. While the needs of consumers change, especially the way that they power their electronics, Duracell realized that they needed to change too, and it's looking like they are on the right track. They've come up with some pretty handy stuff, and while it's not necessarily revolutionary for the times, it is for the company.
