Motorola ATRIX 4G review

Motorola ATRIX 4G review

You have to be a pretty special device to win Best Device of CES, and this year Motorola's ATRIX 4G took away the coveted crown. It's not hard to see why, either: the 4-inch Android smartphone not only pairs NVIDIA's dual-core Tegra 2 processor with a beautiful qHD display, but offers some compelling accessories such as a laptop-style docking station that wants to replace your MacBook Air. Plenty of promise, then, but does the ATRIX 4G deliver the speed, data and flexibility AT&T promise? Check out the full SlashGear review after the cut.

Android Honeycomb Update Rumored to Bring Hardware Restrictions

Android Honeycomb Update Rumored to Bring Hardware Restrictions

Rumors about Google's next version of Android are certainly picking up the pace. Unfortunately, this latest bit of information may or may not be good news. For those who have been waiting to get a tablet for something "better" than what's available now, then the idea of Google enforcing hardware restrictions probably wouldn't be a bad deal at all. However, if you've already bought a tablet that runs Android, like Samsung's Galaxy Tab, then even the smallest possibility that you may not even be allowed to update your device, because of enforced hardware limitations, may mean a lot of heartache and turmoil.

Acer Aspire One D255 Now Available in the US

Acer Aspire One D255 Now Available in the US

As of this week, Acer has officially made available the Aspire One D255 in the United States. Originally uncovered at the beginning of July this year, the new netbook is one of the earliest to feature Intel's 1.5GHz Atom N550 dual-core processor. While the specifications of the new netbook may seem familiar with others on the market, it's the dual-core chip inside that Acer believes will give it enough of a performance boost amidst the other single-core netbooks already available.

Asus Eee PC 1015PEM Netbook Now Available in the US for $399

Asus Eee PC 1015PEM Netbook Now Available in the US for $399

Just a couple of days ago, Asus took some time at PEPCOM to announce a plethora of new hardware, ranging from netbooks to PCs. And while the announcement did well to let people know what was coming, Asus wasn't very clear on when each piece of new technology would find its way to the market, let alone where in the world they would be launching. If the Eee PC 1015PEM is any indication, then it looks like we won't have to wait long to start seeing the other announcements popping up.

HP Mini 5103 Equipped with Intel Dual-Core Atom N550 Processor Soon

When Intel announces that one of their chips will be appearing in a plethora of netbooks, we can understand why those netbook manufacturers might be slow to update their sites. Especially when the new chip is dropping into netbooks that, for all intents and purposes, are new themselves. For example, it was only the beginning of August that we told you about HP's Mini 5103, which --at the time-- featured Intel's single-core N455 or N475 processors. Well, it looks like that's about to change.

Intel Dual-Core Atom N550 Processor Ready to Ship

First revealed back at Computex, Intel's dual-core Atom N550 processor for netbooks was a tease that many of us here couldn't wait to get our hands on. Unfortunately, while the processor has "ready-to-ship" tagged to it, it doesn't look like the processor is being included in any netbooks actually shipping at this very moment.

ASUS ET2400 Line-Up of All-in-One-PCs Announced, Seven New Models in All

ASUS ET2400 Line-Up of All-in-One-PCs Announced, Seven New Models in All

As far as product announcements go, there's no better way for a company to make an imapact than to announce a whole bunch of new things, all at once. That's the mind state for ASUS today, anyway, as the company has just announced that seven brand new all-in-one-PCs will be hitting the market some time in the near future. While they announce plenty about the PCs themselves, there's still a couple of very important things missing from the announcement.

Intel D425 & D525 Atom Processors Boost Performance for Faster Storage Processing

Intel D425 & D525 Atom Processors Boost Performance for Faster Storage Processing

Back in March, we reported that Intel was moving forward into the "always-on" category of devices, and expanding their Intel Atom processors for devices like RAID arrays and NAS. Well, that was a long time ago, especially in the tech industry. So it goes as no surprise that Intel has just announced that they've got two new processors on deck and ready to get the job done. Welcome the Intel D425 and D525 to the Atom lineage.

The Daily Slash: May 19th 2010

Today was the middle of the week, but it didn't really feel like it until about half-way through. At least it wasn't the beginning of the week again, right? Not yet, anyway. Welcome to tonight's edition of the Daily Slash. Tonight, after the wake of the first keynote from Google's I/O, in the Best of R3, we've got a screenshot of the Motorola Cliq with a certain numbered update, and the Motorola i1 has finally launched. And then in the Dredge 'Net, LaCie has introduced a new net-connected RAID, MSI's revealed two new notebooks, and Foxconn's got a tablet that may actually rival another already on the market.
