Sony translucent mirror DSLR prototype gets covetable casing

Sony has been showing off a new translucent mirror DSLR camera prototype in Japan this week, borrowing the same technology from the A33 and A55 cameras announced last year, and capable of live image previews and auto-focus in both still and video modes. Canon Rebel T3i and T3 official: Affordable DSLRs

As expected, Canon has officially announced the new Canon EOS Rebel T3i, and the affordable DSLR also brings along a second model, the EOS Rebel T3. The T3i packs an 18-megapixel sensor, tilting/swivelling 3-inch display, ISO 100 to 6400 and Full HD 24p/25p/30p video capture. Pentax K-r Bonnie Pink Model DSLR: limited edition, limited taste

LG will be giving G-Tablet buyers a pair of glasses so they can see the tablet's 3D display; maybe Pentax should give K-r Bonnie Pink Model special edition buyers a pair of sunglasses to protect their eyes from the garish, clashing colors? Named after Japanese popstar Bonnie Pink, this new K-r limited edition DSLR is based on the same 12.4-megapixel camera as announced in September last year. Read The Full Story

Canon EOS 600D spotted: Rebel T2i replacement ahoy?

Certification for the Canon EOS 600D has been spotted in Korea, tipping the presumably imminent arrival of the updated DSLR. Panasonic set to redesign some of its lenses

I have a Nikon DSLR and it has no image stabilization built-in. If you want or need stabilization, you have to buy lenses that have the feature integrated. There are some camera brands that have stabilization in the body, but mostly you need lenses with the feature integrated if you want to reduce blur with zoom or longer exposure times with lots of the DSLRs out there. Sony CLM-V55 is 5-inch clip-on preview display for your HD DSLR

Sony has announced a 5-inch clip-out LCD preview display, the CLM-V55 LCD video monitor, intended to give DSLR videographers a change to see their footage in higher resolution than most camera screens provide. The 800 x 480 panel has a tilt/swivel mount that fits onto an auto-lock accessory shoe or ISO shoe, is powered either by an independent battery or AC adapter, and hooks up to the camera itself via HDMI. Samsung NX11 Unveiled at CES 2011

Samsung is pushing hard into the DSLR market, announcing many products, the NX11 will be the top of the line and will feature Samsung's new i-Function lenses. Nikon patent surfaces for lens with manual and motorized zoom

The video quality you can get from a DSLR that can record video in HD is very impressive giving the capability to make really good photos and video with one go. Canon wants your NFC smartphone as a DSLR screen in new patent application

As patent application illustrations go, Canon hasn't exactly pushed the boat out this time, but there's enough to see that the company is interested in how digital cameras and cellphones might one day talk among themselves. In an application titled "Communication Device and Control Method Thereof", Canon outlines a system whereby NFC - or another short-range wireless technology - could be used to turn your cellphone display into an ad-hoc viewer for content on your digital camera, as well as transferring content across or updating settings.
