Welcome to the latest edition of the SlashGear Week in Review! One of the big topics this week has been the details surfacing about the Apple iTV device that will replace the Apple TV epic fail. Kevin Rose claims that the device will have iAd-supported content and an iPad remote control. Rumors made the rounds early in the week that Apple and Verizon were still working out the details on the iPhone coming to the Verizon network. Canon EOS 60D debuts: 18MP, Full HD video & in-camera RAW editing

Canon has outed its latest DSLR, the EOS 60D, an 18-megapixel camera with Full HD video recording, a twisting & rotating 3-inch display, and a DIGIC 4 processor for in-camera RAW image editing.  For the first time on an EOS model, users of the 60D will be able to tweak Picture Style, White Balance (WB), Color Space, High-ISO Noise Reduction, Peripheral Illumination Correction, linear distortion correction and chromatic aberration correction from the camera itself, rather than waiting until they have access to a computer. Canon announces new APS-H CMOS sensor with 120MP resolution

Canon has announced the development of a new CMOS sensor that is APS-H-size and has a resolution of up to 120-megapixels. Canon says that the sensor is the highest resolution in the world for its size. The sensor covers 120 million pixels compared to similarly sized sensors that cover only 16.1 million pixels. Sony A55 and A33 Translucent Mirror DSLRs: smaller, faster & continuous focus

It's not just the A580 and A560 that Sony is unveiling today; the company also has a pair of new DSLRs using its Translucent Mirror Technology, the 16.2-megapixel A55 and 14.2-megapixel A33, to show off.  The new system trims things down by using a fixed, translucent mirror that splits the optical pathway between the main image sensor and a separate phase-detection autofocus sensor.  Not only does that allow for a smaller camera, but it also means live image previews and phase detection autofocus are available all the time, both via the viewfinder and the adjustable 3-inch LCD display. Sony A580 and A560 DSLRs pack Full HD video, auto-HDR, more

Sony has announced its latest high-end DSLRs, the 16.2-megapixel A580 and 14.2-megapixel A560, each capable of Full HD video recording and up to 7fps stills.  Both models get a new, 15-point phase-detection autofocus system, the 3D sweep panorama we've seen from the NEX-5 and SteadyShot INSIDE in-body sensor shift image stabilisation. Is it ironic when a rumored camera gets a pre-release photoshoot of its own? If so, the new Sony A33 and A55 Pellix DSLRs are steeped in it, because a few photos have just broken cover over at Photo Rumors. They show off the camera's slanted design (if you look hard enough, you can see the shoulders are slightly sloped), as well as that LCD screen able to detach from the camera's body, and swing down. Near the end of July, the features list for the upcoming Nikon D3100 DSLR supposedly leaked. And, truth be told, they were all pretty standard upgrades. Nothing all too mind boggling and what not.
