SlashGear Morning Wrap-up: November 23 2010

Dunk it in! This morning over at Android Community (or was it late last night?) Vincent reviewed the Motorola Defy - a rugged piece of machinery that'll get wet and keep on clickin. There's some 3D modeling and studying of flying snakes on SlashGear, a hands on with the Marvell Android tablet, and a gaming computer employing cooled liquid to get it down to some sub-zero temps. And then, and then! Apple announces they're going to have some Black Friday sales at their stores. Holy holiday ham! What a strange day it's turning out to be here on SlashGear Morning Wrap-up!

The Daily Slash: November 19 2010

It's a [FEATURED] fantasy today! We've got columns and special posts by the barrel-full, and you're gonna love em! First thing in the morning we got a pre-noon delivery from the FedEx truck - what did the FedEx man bring for us to unbox and get our hands on? A NOOKcolor, fresh off the factory line! Then we write a couple of columns: one on the raging state of the Tablets market, and one on the current quick-paced state of political news. Then Josh Marinacci says webOS will be available soon for ALL Palm devices, there's a White iPhone 4 sale in China, and the feature stream begins. Last night our man Vince was at PEPCOM and brought back video demos of Gorilla Glass, a three screen monitor from Samsung, and a NOOKcolor. Finally (there's more?!) the last installment of Evan's Week with the HTC HD7 is up - Xbox LIVE! All this and even MORE on The Daily Slash!

Motorola Droid Upgrading to Android 2.2 Next Week

We'll just go ahead and say it: Android 2.2 is just about to be on everything. And it looks like, unlike the previous updates to the Android version, every major carrier and manufacturer out there is taking the update to Android 2.2, or Froyo, very seriously. And that's perfectly fine with us. This time around, we've got official word from Verizon that the Motorola Droid is getting updated to Android 2.2 next week.

Droid X Review

Droid X Review

Motorola's first-generation DROID shook HTC's dominance of the Android segment and arguably reinvented the company after years of tired RAZR variants. Now, after a spate of low- to mid-tier Android devices, the company has unveiled their next high-end smartphone. The Motorola DROID X, again on Verizon Wireless in the US, scales up the screen, the camera and the processor, while simultaneously slimming down in the hand; it also faces strong competition from HTC, Samsung and others. Has Motorola done enough second-time around? Check out the full SlashGear review after the cut.

The Daily Slash: July 6th 2010

Tonight's a bit of a phone night, and we really can't explain why. But, as you know, it happens. But, in any event, welcome to the eve of the rest of the week. In tonight's edition of The Daily Slash, tucked away in The Best of R3 Media, we've got what HTC calls plans for the future of Android and HTC Sense, the coolest ceiling fan in the history of ceiling fans, and the Droid Incredible's (shocker) been pushed back again. And then in the Dredge 'Net, scientists have created a ridiculously strong battery, the original Kindle patent spells doom and gloom for the competition, and some lucky Droid X pre-orderers are getting their devices early.
