We've already seen that Verizon's DROID Incredible has a hidden settings menu with curious mentions of 4G networks, and now it seems we know why. Android Community tipster Jacob Stein was browsing the options of LauncherPro and discovered a whole lot more settings than the DROID Incredible had previously had, complete with multiple mentions of Sprint.

While Verizon has a firm plan on their LTE roll-out for the rest of 2010, leading all the way out to 2013, there's no reason to think that their current generation devices have the ability to access 4G technology. At least, that's what they want you to think. Verizon Droid Incredible by HTC gets Android 2.2, 720p HD video, Flash Player now
If you've been waiting patiently for Verizon to push out the Android 2.2. Froyo update for the HTC Droid Incredible, not taking the easy option and opting for one of the unofficial ROMs that are circulating, then today could be the day your high standards are rewarded. Verizon has pinged us to let us know that they're pushing out Froyo for the Droid Incredible as an OTA update, complete with Adobe Flash Player 10.1.

HTC EVO 4G shortages undermine Sprint’s WiMAX advantage admits Hesse
Sprint's patchy stock of the HTC EVO 4G has limited the impact of their early entrance into the 4G market, according to CEO Dan Hesse, telling the WSJ that "we thought we would have more of a head start than we'll end up having." HTC says the delay in handsets is down to shortages in stocks of components like touchscreens, and that they're looking to new suppliers to boost production capacity; according to HTC spokesman Keith Nowak, the company is even monitoring flights to the US to get last-minute shipping space for the EVO 4G - and the Verizon Droid Incredible, similarly in short supply - as it rolls fresh off the production line and thus speed up availability.

720p video and MiFi tipped for Verizon DROID Incredible
Signs of an upcoming firmware update that would add 720p HD video recording functionality and the ability to act as a 3G mobile WiFi hotspot to the Verizon DROID Incredible have been spotted. The new abilities were discovered on a test HTC Incredible loaned to a member of AndroidForums, who promptly shared some images of the two new changes.

HTC Using Super TFT LCD Displays to Reinforce Dwindling Stock
If you haven't read the review of the Droid Incredible, or the HTC Desire, then we'll add the main draw of those phones right here (even though you should go read them, anyway): Their 3.7-inch AMOLED displays are amazing. Unless you plan on using your device in direct sunlight all the time, AMOLED is definitely one of the best displays out there (yes, Super AMOLED is better). But, it's been rough for HTC to keep their latest AMOLED-toting device in stock, and a lot of that has to do with that screen. Changes are afoot, though, which may help people out there aching to get their hands on the Droid Incredible they've purchased before the end of July.

Motorola is Focusing on Android for Now, Talks About Tablets & HTC
Co-CEO of Motorola, Sanjay Jha, decided to open up in regards to just about anything that his company might be thinking about for the future, which included HTC, tablets (of course), and where he and his company stand on that proprietary Operating System (OS) he mentioned a few months back. There's not a lot that we didn't see coming, and definitely no surprises here, but nevertheless it's always good to hear it coming from a company's Chief Executive, rather than the rumor mill.

Nexus One Android 2.2 update imminent; HTC Sense versions in 2H 2010
Google weren't shy about confirming Android 2.2 Froyo's star features at Google IO yesterday, but definitive timescales about when Android-addicts (other than developers) could actually get their hands on the OS were in short supply. That's beginning to slowly change, with the official Google IO Twitter account announcing that the Nexus One would get Froyo in the "next few weeks". As for other manufacturers, so far only HTC have stepped up with their plan.
