Motorola Corvair photos leaked

It appears that Motorola has had a bit of a leak this week in the form of not only some packaging but in the device itself, the device being one called Motorola Corvair, an Android 2.3 Gingerbread tablet that acts as a television controller. Besides that, the source of this leak, Nilay Patel of The Verge, notes that the device is in testing with cable companies right now. World’s largest glasses-free 3D display shown in Japan

Japans' National Institute of Information and Communications (NICT) along with JVC Kenwood have jointly developed a 200-inch auto-stereoscopic Full HD 3D display, which is being touted as the world's largest glasses-free 3D display to date. The screen allows you to watch a video from 57 different angles, which means that you can even see the sides of 3D objects. Read The Full Story

LCD panel firms in South Korea fined a total of $176M

South Korea's Fair Trade Commission have fined ten LCD panel makers operating inside the country a total of $176 million or 195 billion won. The fines were for allegedly holding meetings with the goal of keeping the prices of LCD screens artificially high. AUO brings transparent displays to vending machines [Video]

This week in Yokohama the folks at AUO are showing off more than one transparent AMOLED display, the largest of which appears to be fully functional on a full-sized vending machine. What you'll see below is a machine that'll give you a bottle of water at the same time as it displays a jungle, complete with a giraffe head, monkeys, and a chicken, all of them playing for your entertainment. CMI 720p 4.3-inch glasses-free 3D smartphone display revealed

Chimei Innolux (CMI) has revealed a new 4.3-inch smartphone display, offering glasses-free 3D as well as 720p HD resolution support. The new screen combines a CMI TFT panel running at 1280 x 720 resolution with Cell-Matrix Parallax Barrier technology from MasterImage 3D, the specialist 3D company that Samsung invested $15m in back in March. Consisting of a Brother AirScouter wearable display and a compact 500MHz ARM-based computer packing WiFi a/b/g and Bluetooth, the system currently targets industrial augmented reality (AR) applications, but NEC sees the future being far broader. Toshiba 6-inch tablet display offers 498ppi print-quality

Toshiba has revealed its latest high-resolution display, a 6.1-inch panel that runs at a whopping 2,560 x 1,600 and which could allow for tablets capable of photo-quality graphics. The new panel, which has a Retina Display busting pixel density of 498ppi, delivers well in excess of Full HD resolution in a screen smaller than you'd find on, say, a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7. PlayStation 3D Display due Nov 13; Sony “evaluating” bigger models

Sony has confirmed that the PlayStation 3D Display will go on sale November 13, offering 24-inches of 1080p HD 3D gaming for $499.99. Answering questions on the official PlayStation blog, Sony revealed that the display won't come with a remote control but will instead rely on the new PS3 Remote Control for armchair surfing. LG IPS5 Series displays promise super-accurate color

LG has launched a new range of LCD display, the IPS5 series, and as the name suggest the four-strong line-up each uses an IPS panel rather than cheaper TN. Available in 21.5- and 23-inch sizes, all supporting Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution and 250 cd/m2 brightness, the IPS5 range is pre-calibrated by imaging experts who even include a report on the monitor's tuning in the box. While we won’t get too crazy here we do have a few photos and video comparing the display on both the Kindle Fire and the Kindle Touch 3G. With the Kindle Fire we have a 7″ IPS panel with a 1024 x 600 resolution that features great colors and exceptional viewing angles.
