The Canon Professional and enthusiast photographers got their wishes; Carl Zeiss has officially revealed the mystery ZE teaser today as promised – ZE lenses with EF bayonet for film and digital EOS cameras. The lenses will cover full-frame digital models, and are fully compatible via its electronics contacts to support features such as programmed auto exposure, shutter priority, aperture priority, manual setting, AF confirmation, EXIF information, and even E-TTL flash metering. Leica M8.2 Digital Rangefinder Camera gets Official Release

News from Far West has revealed the Leica M8’s successor now known as M8.2. Nothing mind-blowing as the improved version employed the same old 10.3 Megapixel CCD 18x27mm sensor, body and characteristics of the current successful M8. A reputable French magazine, Chasseur d’images, that brought you an ad leak on Leica 50mm F0.95 Noctilux has an interesting post on their website involving the year most anticipated digital camera – Canon EOS 5D mark II. Chasseur d’images is one of French’s most-read photography magazines, they probably have got to look at and even field-test the camera. They did mention and state the information as rumors that have been circulating the web recently (so they don’t break NDA?). It’s in French, so the babefish translation is slightly challenging. Take about fast lenses and paper thin Depth Of Field! An ad leak from a French photography magazine-Chasseur d'images has revealed three ultra fast lenses from Leica. The German finest glass maker is more likely to update the legendary Leica 50mm F1.0 M Noctilux at the upcoming Photokina with a new 50mm F0.95 Noctilux ASPH. An F-stop on a par with the Canon 60s’s vintage 50mm F0.95. If the DOF gets any narrower, you will not be able to pin down the focusing point. Read The Full Story

Sony A900 Ad Leak shows new Alpha with 24.6MP

Announced early this year at PMA 2008, Sony revealed an unnamed full frame prototype with in-house 24.81 Megapixel ‘Exmor’ CMOS sensor and was expected to make its formal introduction a week before Photokina 2008. Over the months there have been numerous rumors circulating about this new Alpha but the intriguing part is the possibility of this 25MP sesnor ends up in the Nikon D3x. We have not seen any solid on D3x yet, but a fellow member from DPR has posted a concrete advertisement of the new Alhpa taken from a Danish photography magazine. Read The Full Story

Canon Japan released latest firmware update for EOS REBEL XSi / 450D

A firmware update on the entry-level Rebel Digital SLR has been issued from Canon Japan today. The newest Firmware version 1.09 addressed the following issues.

Fixes a phenomenon in which AEB (Auto Exposure Bracketing) shooting does not operate normally under specific conditions. Fixes a phenomenon in which the Live View exposure simulation warning indication does not properly display during Live View shooting. Fixes a phenomenon in which images cannot be played back after continuous shooting when a printer is connected to the camera or a video output terminal is used.

Nikon D90 DSLR officially announced

SlashGear reader Chase Jarvis is a lucky guy: for the past few months he’s been testing out Nikon’s D90 DSLR as part of Nikon’s launch campaign, and he asked if we were interested in seeing the results.  Considering all that’s leaked so far have been stock images and rumored specs, we couldn’t turn down the opportunity, so here it is: Nikon’s new D90, with the 12.3-megapixel chip from the D300, 720p video recording and GPS tagging.

Nikon D90 DSLR images and specs leak

Nikon's D90 looks to be all but officially confirmed, with all-round press shots of the DSLR emerging together with what are being described as "100-percent legit" specifications.  The 12.3-megapixel camera will have an ISO range of 200 to 3.200 plus Lo1 (100) and Hi 1 (6.400), a 3-inch 900k pixel LCD and GPS, together with video recording and playback via the built in microphone and speaker.
