Perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised; Panasonic‘s latest digital photo frame has sprouted an iPhone dock, allowing you to not only display images stored on its 2GB of internal storage but any pictures on the Apple smartphone. The Panasonic MW-20 has a 9-inch LCD display on an adjustable hinge, and also works as a speaker-dock thanks to its 5.6-mm Super Slim Semi Dome Speaker and sound diffuser.

The display adjusts its backlighting according to the ambient conditions, and it’ll obviously recharge your iPhone (or, indeed, your iPod touch) while it’s docked. There’s also an SD card slot and support for Panasonic’s LUMIX Scene Mode Playback which, if you’re shooting with a compatible camera from the company, can automatically pull together photos shot in the various different camera modes (e.g. nighttime, sports, etc.).

You can also choose to show a clock, calendar or other screensavers; in fact the only thing really missing is WiFi and/or 3G, and it’s a shame you can’t tether the phone and use its connection like with the Transgear model we wrote about back in 2009. The Panasonic MW-20 will go on sale in late November 2010, priced at $249.95.

Press Release:

PANASONIC ANNOUNCES DIGITAL PHOTO FRAME – COMPLETE WITH STEREO SOUND SYSTEM FOR PLAYING PHOTOS MUSIC AND VIDEOS WITH EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY

New Panasonic MW-20 is a Versatile and Stylish Multimedia System,
Compatible with iPod Touch® and iPhone® for Convenient Playback

SECAUCUS, NJ (October 4, 2010) – Panasonic today announced the MW-20, a digital photo frame that doubles as a stereo sound system, complete with iPod Touch® and iPhone® compatibility – using the supplied cradle to display photos and play music stored on the popular mobile devices is easy and convenient. The MW-20, a slim multimedia system, also charges the iPod Touch/iPhone while it is connected to the cradle.

The Panasonic MW-20 can play back videos and photos on its large, high-resolution 9-inch screen, while incorporating advanced audio technology to provide superb sound quality.
Below the screen, there is a 5.6-mm Super Slim Semi Dome Speaker and a diffuser that optimizes the sound. In addition, the built-in DSP (Digital Signal Processor) adjusts the audio signal to suit the audio characteristics of this speaker system.

“The Panasonic MW-20 has a stylish and slim design that will complement any home décor and given its versatility to display photos, videos, play music and even charge an iPhone – we think this will be a welcomed addition this holiday season,” said David Fisher, Product Manager, Imaging, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company. “Beyond its design and versatility, the MW-20 is also a powerful gadget – with exceptional sound quality to listen to music and a large nine-inch screen to view digital photos and videos.”

The MW-20 has an Adjustable Angle Display1 system that allows the angle to be changed to suit the viewing direction. With the supplied fixture, the MW-20 can be positioned in landscape orientation or hung on a wall. The MW-20 can display photos shot with a digital still camera by inserting an SD Memory Card into its slot. The MW-20 has 2GB of built-in memory for additional storage. The MW-20 features the LUMIX Scene Mode Playback function, which enables users to play back selected groups of photos shot with a Panasonic LUMIX digital camera using the iA Intelligent Scene Selector mode (Night Scenery, Portrait, Scenery, etc.). The MW-20 features 15 different display patterns to show a calendar, clock, photo – whichever combination the user prefers.

The MW-20 features an environmentally-conscious power-saving feature, with a luminance sensor that automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen according to the room lighting. For instance, when a room is dark, the MW-20 automatically shuts off. The Panasonic MW-20 will be available in late-November 2010 with a suggested retail price of $249.95. For more information, visit www.panasonic.com.

Kodak’s recent line of digital imaging products might not make for the most inspiring of spec-sheets, but they’ve got the sort of bargain price-tags mainstream users are looking for. We caught up with the Kodak PLAYTOUCH Full HD camcorder, the Kodak EasyShare M590 camera and 10-inch PULSE wireless digital photo frame to see what your money gets you.

Kodak are pretty proud of the EasyShare M590, what with it being the thinnest point-and-shoot with an all-internal 5x optical zoom, though at 0.6-inches it’s certainly not the slickest digital camera around. Still, the zoom gets you nice and close, and there’s a 14.5-megapixel sensor inside too. Style-wise it’s a little on the bland side, but the straightforward button layout does at least mean there’s little in the way of user confusion. It’s priced at $199.95.

As for the PLAYTOUCH, it’s more expensive – at $229.95 – which could hurt in a market where cheaper point-and-shoot camcorders are already under attack from 720p-capable cameraphones. Still, the capacitive touchscreen is responsive and bright, and the build quality is good; Kodak’s simple UI should make for a relatively straightforward experience with non-techy users, as well.

Finally, the Kodak 10-inch PULSE, a WiFi-enabled digital photo frame. The company was showing the new model next to the original 7-inch version, and while the difference might not sound much on paper, in practice you get far more viewing pleasure. At $199.95 it’s reasonably competitively priced, and Kodak’s wireless sharing feature is easy to use.

Qualcomm are holding their annual IQ event in London today, and while the company has confirmed that their 1.5GHz Snapdragon chipset for smartphones and tablets is due in Q1 2011 (Update: the 1.5GHz actually won’t be until near the end of 2011; the 1.2GHz will arrive in Q1 2011) more interesting perhaps is their AR photo frame demo. Currently running as an Android app, the system allows users to take a photo on their smartphone, point the handset’s camera at a digital photo frame, and then instantly squirt the image over to it.

Update: Technical details added after the cut

Video demo after the cut

After you tap the usual “Share” option in Android, then choose Photo Frame, the camera view shows you what you’re looking at in your living room. The system users AR technology to recognise each frame, highlighting it with a purple border; tap it, and the photo is automatically loaded over whatever wireless network you’re on.

So far Qualcomm aren’t saying exactly what they’ve done to create the system – obviously each frame has some degree of internet connectivity, and we’re guessing they’re pre-registered as your “home” displays – so we’ll be chasing up more details during the demo section of IQ 2010.

Update: We’ve just spoken with Qualcomm about the hardware and software behind the AR photo frame system, and it’s clever stuff. It all centers on Qualcomm’s Augmented Reality SDK, running in this case on a Google Nexus One but compatible with any Android 2.1+ device, together with their P2P technology. The frames are actually standard LCD monitors, each hooked up to a generic ASUS Eee Box PC running a custom app Qualcomm coded for the demo (with P2P functionality), and everything is on the same wireless network (we were told a regular WiFi router was used, though it was implied that Bluetooth could also be used for direct connections).

Rather than register each display to the phone, the system uses image recognition to identify them. The AR engine knows what each picture frame is showing, and matches that to the view through the camera: when you tap on-screen to select it, the P2P engine automatically swaps the pictures over.

The downside is that all the displays being used must be showing something different, else the AR recognition system can’t differentiate between them. Qualcomm aren’t looking to produce apps or displays themselves, but are expecting vendors using their AR SDK to offer similar services.

Kodak has outed what they’re calling the world’s thinnest digital camera with a 5x optical zoom, together with the 10-inch Kodak PULSE digital photo frame spotted hopping through the FCC last week. The company is obviously so excited about the Kodak EasyShare M590′s slimness that they’ve neglected to mention that other great photography competition: how many megapixels it packs. Still, Kodak are so heavily pushing their Share button – which tags images for upload to various social networking and gallery sites once you plug in to a computer with a network connection – that they’re probably assuming the raw shots will end up cropped down and compressed for online viewing, so original resolution doesn’t really matter.

There’s also a 2.7-inch LCD display, face recognition, image stabilization, HD video capture and a microSD card slot for storage. The Kodak EasyShare M590 will go on sale this fall, priced at $199.95 in silver, red, purple or blue.

As for the 10-inch Kodak PULSE digital frame, like its 7-inch sibling it has WiFi and its own email address: you can send images directly to the frame and, as long as it’s within network range, it’ll automatically start showing them. Facebook and Kodak Gallery content can also be pulled down automatically. It’ll also arrive this fall, priced at $199.95.

Meanwhile another document [PDF link] Kodak submitted to the FCC confirms that the new Pulse W1030 won’t be able to transfer files directly with a PC. The frame’s USB port will only work as a USB Host, for connecting directly to a camera; it’s unclear if that means direct WiFi connections won’t be supported, though that seems unlikely to be the case.

That would suggest that the only way to load images to the Pulse W1030′s internal memory (capacity unspecified) is to use a memory card or set up a wireless network; many frames will allow for direct connection to a computer, with the display showing up as an external drive. No word on when Kodak may release the Pulse W1030, but they requested 45 days confidentiality on the rest of the testing documentation and user guide, so that suggests a holiday launch.

The CubeBrowser is designed to bring images from the cloud, or online, right to your hands. This isn’t just a normal picture frame. Not at all. Instead of just putting it on a desk somewhere and forgetting about it, you’re meant to hold it in your hand, turn it over, and look at the six-sided device as new images are displayed based on your actions. A great idea, for sure, especially because you’re not supposed to just leave it somewhere and show it off with a point of a finger.

The CubeBrowser is a digital display, as the image clearly shows. It’s meant to bring pictures from image hosting sites like Flickr, or Picasa, and bring them right into your hand. You’ll be able to change photos based on your actions with the cube. Shaking it will bring a whole new batch of photos to the ‘Cube, which can pull images based on a set of tags you input into the system.

Turning it vertically will change the tags you’ve preset into the device, while turning it to the side will just change the images within that tag. There’s no word on the designers hopes for the display resolution, and there doesn’t seem to be any word on how you’d input images on your own, like with an I/O device. But, then again, it may just not do that — or it could use something like Bluetooth for its connectivity purposes. Maybe if this wins some awards somewhere, we could actually see it showing up on retail shelves in the future.

Ceiva has announced an app for Android smartphones called Ceiva Snap that allows the user to shoot a picture with their Android device and then send the photo directly to their Ceiva photo frame that is connected to the internet.

That means you can snap a picture of the kids at the beach in California and send the photo directly to mom in New York in seconds. This is perfect for people who want to give a digital frame to a family member or a friend that isn’t tech savvy for loading the thing themselves. This app would be perfect for that new Droid X and its nice camera.

Remember the Pandigital Photo Mail Digital Photo Frame? We mocked its name and wretched press shots back in January, but also lauded its integrated AT&T 3G for wirelessly receiving new images sent to a dedicated email address. Pandigital have just announced that the $179.99 will go on sale within the next couple of weeks, and they’ve also confirmed pricing for their pre-pay photo download packages.

While the sticker price for the frame comes with 300 wirelessly-delivered photos, Pandigital are selling a further 100 for $9.99, 400 for $29.99 or 700 for $49.99. Although we’d love it to be subscription-free, we guess that’s the price you have to pay for avoiding WiFi; this strikes us as the ideal DPF for a grandparent who doesn’t have broadband. There’s also a 6-in-1 media card reader and USB port for side-loading images (with no charge, obviously) to the Photo Mail frame’s 1GB of internal memory, which can then be rotated and resized, and have their brightness and colors tweaked. Finally, it’ll play back AVI videos and MP3 audio.

Press Release:

Pandigital Begins Shipping Photo Mail Digital Photo Frame

Connected to AT&T Nationwide Wireless Network, Photo Sharing is Timely and Convenient

DUBLIN, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Pandigital today announced it is now shipping its highly anticipated Pandigital Photo Mail® Digital Photo Frame to several national retailers.

The Pandigital Photo Mail Digital Photo Frame is a next-generation, wirelessly-connected digital photo frame that displays photos emailed directly to its dedicated email address. Customers can share that address with family and friends to allow them to send photos directly to the frame from their own email account – whether it’s from a computer, smart phone or any email-enabled device.

Incredibly easy to use, photos can be viewed on the Pandigital Photo Mail frame very quickly. The frame connects to email wirelessly through AT&T’s nationwide wireless network, so emailed photos are transmitted rapidly and reliably.

“We’re coming up on a fun and busy time of year where families are together often for special occasions like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, graduations and summer vacations, and the Photo Mail frame is a great way to enjoy and share photos taken at these get-togethers,” said Dean Finnegan, CEO and founder, Pandigital. “With the frame, customers have a convenient, reliable way to view their photos and then share them quickly and easily with their family and friends.”

Pandigital Photo Mail frames are shipping to popular national retailers now and will be available for purchase by customers in the next several weeks. The Pandigital Photo Mail Digital Photo Frame will have a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of $179.99. The price of the frame includes the ability to receive 300 photos emailed to the frame with no service fee to the customer. Additional photo allotments may be purchased directly from Pandigital: 100 for $9.99, 400 for $29.99 and 700 for $49.99.

“Photo sharing is simple and timely with the Photo Mail frame connected to AT&T’s wireless network,” said Glenn Lurie, president, emerging devices, resale and partnerships, AT&T Mobility. “With this new era of connected frames, photos will no longer be held captive on a camera or a smart phone. Grandparents will have convenient, up to date access to a grandchild’s latest adventure and parents will have the ability to stay in touch visually with their children away at college.”

Customers are alerted by the frame when new photos are emailed to its dedicated email address by friends and family so that they may quickly accept the photos in a single step to then begin enjoying them. Because the frames can receive photos from a smart phone or other email-enabled device, photos can be sent from virtually anywhere, even on-the-go.

Traditional Digital Photo Frame Usage and Extra Features Give it Full Functionality

In addition to having the capability to receive photos via email, the Pandigital Photo Mail Digital Photo Frame can also be loaded with photos via its 6-in-1 media card reader (Compact Flash, SC, XD, MS, MSPro and MMC) or via a direct connection to a computer or digital camera. The frame can also be connected to a Wifi network via an add-on wireless adapter.

The Pandigital Photo Mail Digital Photo Frame has an 8-inch back-lit LED display that displays photos in vibrant color and a picture-enhancing 800×600 resolution. The 4:3 aspect ratio preserves the original format of the photos, ensuring that they are not stretched or cropped. Plus, with a full 1GB of internal memory and Pandigital’s memory optimization mode, consumers can enjoy up to 6400 images on the display. Also, images can be rotated and resized, and brightness and color settings can be changed. The Pandigital Photo Mail Digital Photo Frame also can play back AVI video clips and MP3 music files.

Maintaining the upscale style of the Pandigital line, the new Pandigital Photo Mail Digital Photo Frame features a traditional look with a real wood frame, photo matting and a glass screen cover, so it looks great in the home or office.

Kenwood might not be the first name you’d associate with iPod speaker docks, nor with digital photo frames, but their latest product ticks both boxes. The Kenwood AS-iP70 has a 7-inch WVGA LCD display and a pop-out iPod/iPhone dock; as well as listening to music and viewing photos and video from the Apple PMP on the display, owners can also load up photos from an SD card and view them instead.

Other connectivity includes a USB 2.0 port for accessing the SD drive, while there’s also an FM radio is none of your downloaded music appeals. The speakers are tucked away on either side of the display, though at 1.5W each the AS-iP70 isn’t going to knock your house down with its musical power.

Still, it’s a distinctive device and kills two birds with one stone, so all that remains to be seen is exactly how much it will be. Impress reckon around 25,000 yen ($277) which seems on the high side to us; we’ll find out for sure when the Kenwood AS-iP70 hits Japanese stores in April 2010.

Isabella Product’s Vizit cellular-enabled digital photo frame has finally gone up for sale, and it’s also confirmed pricing for the required AT&T data plan. The 10.4-inch 800 x 600 touchscreen – available in silver or black – is priced at $279.99, while there will be two data plan options: a “basic” plan at $5.99 per month, or a “premium” plan at $79.99 per year.

The basic plan gets you up to 100 photos per month delivered through AT&T’s data network (the Vizit uses GPRS rather than 3G), which can be sent to the frame either via email or from an MMS-capable cellphone. As for the premium plan, that gets you up to 1,450 photos per year (around 120 per month).

It’s also possible to view locally-stored images on the Vizit display, as well as access Photobucket, Flickr and other galleries. Meanwhile viewers can respond to received photos directly from the frame itself, as well as forward them on to others. Frankly, we’re not sure the price is low enough for the target audience to stomach, but we’re hoping this marks the start of a new breed of cellular-enabled displays.

Press Release:

Isabella Products’ Award Winning Vizit Photo Frame Now Available for Purchase

Wirelessly Connected Touch Screen Photo Frame Ships for Mother’s Day

Consumer electronics company Isabella Products announced the availability of Vizit™, the first two-way, fully interactive digital photo frame powered by the AT&T* wireless network.

Available now on VizitMe.com, Vizit enables friends and family to send photos of life’s most important moments in real-time, connecting loved ones regardless of location. Simply email a photo to the frame address and it arrives within minutes, connecting families with visceral images. Then, with just a touch of the screen, Vizit users can share, reply, forward, favorite and delete any image on the frame. All photos sent to Vizit are automatically archived within a user’s personal VizitMe.com account, which allows users to remotely manage, edit, delete and organize the photos on their frame.

Crowned the winner of the Best Embedded Mobile Device at Mobile World Congress in February, Vizit is sold direct from VizitMe.com and retails at $279.99, requiring a basic ($5.99/month) or premium ($79.99/year) photo plan.

Isabella Products’ CEO, Matthew I. Growney says, “An evolution of how we share photos is underway. To date, a digital frame has simply served as an end point or storage unit. With Vizit, people can now reply to pictures or forward them to others directly from the frame. It’s truly the most interactive experience.”

“Isabella Products has approached Vizit in an innovative way which will allow the digital photo frame to become a more integral part of the imaging ecosystem,” commented InfoTrends senior research analyst Carrie Sylvester, “If you don’t free the pictures from the ‘electronic shoeboxes’ (e.g. memory cards and PCs) and bring the photos into our everyday lives, there’s not much point in taking pictures.”

“With Vizit’s intuitive design and use of AT&T’s wireless network, photo sharing is going to become simpler, faster and more enjoyable,” said Glenn Lurie, president of AT&T’s emerging device organization. “It’s the ideal photo sharing companion for parents, grandparents, kids away at school and siblings who might be across town or across the country. We’re proud to be the network of choice for this innovative product.”

Through a partnership with LIFE.com, the Vizit digital photo frame will also feature photos from the largest collection of professional photography on the web today. This expansive photo collection contains millions of extraordinary images, many of which are now accessible to Vizit users through an RSS feed on the frame owner’s VizitMe.com account. Additionally, users can easily import their photos from photo sharing sites like Photobucket into their VizitMe.com account.

Vizit’s ultra-thin display is wall-mountable and available in charcoal with a black accent or silver with a white accent. Vizit measures 10.9” wide x 7.4” high x .65” deep.

To order your Vizit or learn more, please go to VizitMe.com.

When is a digital photo frame not a digital photo frame? Why, when it’s a standalone social aggregator of course; that’s just what the Mojito promises, a 7-inch WVGA display with integrated WiFi b/g and a remote control, that can pull in various social networking feeds – such as Twitter, RSS and Facebook – together with photos, weather and more.

The concept is that, rather than monopolise your computer display (or smartphone) with these sort of updates, you can relegate them to a dedicated screen. Setup and subscriptions are managed by a webform rather than having to scroll through login details with the basic remote, and once it’s all set up you can use that remote to share anything interesting you spot with your Mojito “LifeStream” or over Twitter, Facebook or email.

CrunchGear caught up with Blue Lounge, the company responsible for the Mojito, and shot the demo video below; however they, like us, are more than a little sceptical about the $299 sticker price. A USB sub-display like Nanovision’s MIMO range might not have the software, after all, but it’s a cheaper way to add a mini screen to your computer (onto which you could drag something like TweetDeck).

We keep asking digital photo frame manufacturers to put cellular data connections into their displays, only very few of them seem to listen. One prospect on the near horizon is the Vizit from Isabella Products, a 10.4-inch 800 x 600 touchscreen that can be left freestanding or wall-mounted, and which uses an integrated GSM/GPRS quadband modem to receive images emailed, shared from an online gallery or sent from a cameraphone. Having been up for pre-order for a while now, we now know that Vizit will go on sale March 23rd.

The Vizit’s connection is always-on and photos can not only be sent to the display but from it, too. They go through the company’s VizitMe.com online gallery, which can be fed by direct uploads, RSS feeds or MMS messages from cellphones. Only preset numbers and email addresses can send pictures through, so nothing untoward should frighten your grandmother when it pops up on-screen.

In fact, the only really scary thing is likely to be the price. The Vizit frame itself is $279.99, but you’ll also need to plump for a service plan which Isabella Products are yet to define. Because of that, we can’t see too many people picking up the Vizit. It’s obvious we should’ve been more specific: we want a firm to put together a cellular-enabled display with a user-accessible slot for a pre-paid SIM.

Casio aren’t planning to follow Sony down the path of interactive digital photo frames – as Sony have done with their Dash, adding Chumby widget support – but instead see the devices as a passive form of entertainment. In an interview with Tech-On!, Casio described their intent as turning the digital picture frame into the “third screen”, one which can “sensitively adapt to the users’ lives and environments.” They’ve also put together a prototype to show that passive doesn’t have to mean passé.

That prototype replaces the power button with a presence sensor, turning on the display only when there are people around to enjoy it. Meanwhile there’s also a more complex image processing unit than you’d usually find in such a frame; that’s because the Casio DPF can convert regular photos into painting-style artwork on-the-fly.

Meanwhile there’s also WiFi connectivity and – despite the passivity premise – support for Flash Lite 3.0 widgets. There’s also talk of more advanced user-recognition systems, rather than solely presence, which could be used to automatically pull out images to display based on who is looking at the screen. No word on when – or if – we can expect the prototype to reach production, nor for how much it might retail.

Beyond that scant description and the WiFi b/g 2.4GHz support we’re in the dark about the white appliance’s specifications, but then again this isn’t What Fridge? you’re reading. We’re guessing a straightforward embedded digital photo frame in one of the Samsung’s doors, to which you can stream photos either locally on the network or from various internet galleries; hopefully there’ll be some internet access for recipes, too.

Late into 2009 we upgraded our criteria for digital photo frames that want to avoid SlashGear scorn. No longer is WiFi enough, to be taken seriously such displays must offer something more impressive – like integrated 3G – if they want to be lauded. Happily Pandigital‘s Photo Mail LED Digital Photo Frame has enough spec-sheet positives to encourage us to overlook that dire name (and the equally dire press shots): it packs an 8-inch 800 x 600 LED-backlit display and AT&T wireless for WiFi-free downloads.

Rather than charging you a monthly subscription, Pandigital use a pay-as-you-go type of system. The frame comes with a 300 photo download allowance, and after that you simply buy another block of downloads from Pandigital’s site. To help you make the most of that allowance you can accept or reject images before downloading them; each frame has a unique email address powered by HP’s Snapfish service.

The frame has 1GB of internal storage together with a 6-in-1 memory card reader, and can play AVI video and MP3 audio (though not receive them via 3G); unfortunately it doesn’t have WiFi, but given the target market that’s probably no great issue. What we can’t quite figure out is how much extra download bundles cost, since there’s no mention of it in Pandigital’s press release. The Pandigital Photo Mail LED frame itself will land later in 2010, priced at $149.99.

Press Release:

Pandigital Debuts Photo Mail LED Digital Photo Frame Powered by AT&T

Digital photo frame lets family and friends conveniently email photos to it; Sets new standard in digital photo sharing

Dublin, Calif., Jan. 6, 2010 – Pandigital today debuts the Pandigital Photo Mail LED Digital Photo Frame – a next-generation, wirelessly connected digital photo frame that conveniently accepts photos emailed from family and friends. The frame will connect through AT&T’s* wireless network and is expected to be available early this year.

“Consumers want a convenient, reliable way to share and enjoy photos with friends and family,” said Dean Finnegan, CEO and founder, Pandigital. “We’re enabling consumers to do just that with the Pandigital Photo Mail LED Digital Photo Frame. For the first time, it’s unbelievably simple and affordable to share and enjoy digital images via email to a digital photo frame.”

The new Pandigital Photo Mail LED Digital Photo Frame is incredibly simple to use. Each frame has its own dedicated email address powered by Snapfish by HP. Customers can share that address with family and friends so they can send photos directly to the frame from their own email account – whether it’s from a computer or wireless device.

Upon receiving new photos via email, the recipient can quickly accept and view them. In an instant, consumers can enjoy photos taken by friends, family or even themselves, without leaving their home.

“Pandigital’s Photo Mail LED Digital Photo Frame ushers in a new era of how consumers will share and enjoy digital images,” said Glenn Lurie, president, emerging devices, resale and partnerships, AT&T Mobility. “Delivering photos to this frame is as easy as sending an email. Paired with AT&T’s network, photo sharing becomes a very connected and convenient way to stay close to friends and family.”

Affordably Priced
The Pandigital Photo Mail LED Digital Photo Frame is affordably priced at a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of $149.99. The price of the frame includes the ability to receive 300 photos emailed to the frame with no service fee to the customer. Additional photo allotments may be purchased directly from Pandigital.

Easy Way to Enjoy Digital Images
Photos shared through the device will also be available through an album at Snapfish.com, where people can easily preserve, enjoy and share their most valuable memories, order professionally- developed photos for as low as 9 cents a print, or create more than 100 customizable photo gifts such as books, calendars and more.

High-end Features in New Pandigital Connected Digital Photo Frame
The Pandigital Photo Mail LED Digital Photo Frame is a full-featured digital photo frame with a large 8-inch back-lit LED display in 800×600 resolution, so photos are crisp and clear. The 4:3 aspect ratio preserves the original format of the photos, ensuring that they are not stretched or cropped. Plus, with a full 1GB of internal memory and Pandigital’s memory optimization mode, consumers can enjoy up to 6400 images on the display.

The Pandigital Photo Mail LED Digital Photo Frame can also be loaded with photos in more traditional ways – namely via its 6-in-1 media card reader (Compact Flash, SC, XD, MS, MSPro and MMC) or via a direct connection to a computer or digital camera. Images can be rotated and resized, and brightness and color settings can be changed. The Pandigital Photo Mail LED Digital Photo Frame also can play back AVI video clips and MP3 music files.

The Pandigital 8-inch Photo Mail LED Digital Photo Frame has many additional useful features, such as calendar, clock and alarm functions. Additionally, it can be programmed with specific on/off times so the frame will not use power unnecessarily.

As with all Pandigital digital photo frames, the Pandigital 8-inch Photo Mail LED Digital Photo Frame was designed to look great in the home or office. It features a real wood frame, photo matting and a glass screen cover. As a result, it blends perfectly with additional frames in the home.

*AT&T products and services are provided or offered by subsidiaries and affiliates of AT&T Inc. under the AT&T brand and not by AT&T Inc.

We give digital photo frames a hard time here at SlashGear; it’ll take integrated WiFi just to get you through the door, normally, since we reckon that’s a must-have feature these days. Even more appealing is integrated 3G, and while the TransTechnology Transgear TGP-701MG may not quite manage to make it internal, this 7-inch Japanese photo frame does at least offer a way to get online.

Instead of an integrated 3G modem, the TGP-701MG has a USB port and a cable to hook up to your cellphone. Once you’ve done that, the frame automatically queries the server for any new images, audio or video files to download. TransTechnology call it MagicSync, and they’re offering the SDK for the system freely to Japanese phone manufacturers.

The frame can show regular photos together with playing MP3 and WMA audio files and AVI and MOV video. Content can be loaded locally (using a 3-in-1 memory card slot, or side-loading from a PC via USB to the 1GB of internal storage) or emailed to the server, is automatically resized to suit the WVGA resolution, and the whole thing comes with a remote control. It’s not as straightforward as a fully integrated 3G system, but at least it doesn’t demand a separate contract. On sale in Japan now, priced at 11,980 yen ($133).

There’s also an SD card slot, speaker, USB port and a battery for wireless use, though NTT haven’t said how long that actually lasts. It’s expected to be popular with Japanese women in their 20s, and be priced at between $220 and $330; NTT claim using Android rather than another OS helped bring prices down by around 20-30 percent per unit.

Remember the Sony S-Frame DPP-F700 combination digital photo frame and printer? Announced late last month over in Singapore, the 7-inch WVGA display has just seen its official US launch, and it’s expected to arrive in stores in January for around $200. As well as displaying images on-screen – loaded either via USB or on a memory card, but frustratingly not wirelessly – the DPP-F700 can spit out 4 x 6-inch glossy prints for your mother-in-law to take away.

Video demo after the cut

Since your mother-in-law inevitably hates some of your friends, lurking in the periphery of your photos, you can crop, edit and tweak brightness/contrast/hue/sharpness on the frame itself. Alternatively you can simply zoom in, hit Screen Capture, and have a simple grab of whatever’s on-screen at the time. The DPP-F700 can even produce a layout print with thumbnails.

Printed shots are at 300 x 300 dpi and take 45 seconds to produce, but of course you can use it as a straightforward digital photo frame with various slideshow modes too. The only thing we don’t know is how much the printer paper packs will be; that could make all the difference.

Inside the molded plastic book there’s a removeable panel with slots for your memory cards, meaning you can label each nook: “graduation”, “Christmas 2008″, “why didn’t I upload these to Flickr and have them stream to a WiFi photo frame”. Connectivity looks to include both USB and mini-USB, together with a multiformat memory card slot, headphones socket and power port, while the controls are touch-sensitive and arranged around the bottom corner of the display.

As well as photos the Album can show video content, and there’s a remote control included too. No word on how much this monstrosity might cost, nor when it might arrive on shelves near you.

The HP DreamScreen takes boring digital photo frames to a whole new level. Not only is it sleek and stylish, it adds a brand new dimension to sharing your digital content. Get up to date Facebook status, watch videos, and listen to Pandora Internet radio right from the DreamScreen. The DreamScreen comes in two display sizes – 10.2 inches on the DreamScreen 100 and 13.3 inches for DreamScreen 130; priced at $249 and $299 respectively. Both feature a piano-black design with a flush glass widescreen display, 2GB of built-in memory, a remote control, WiFi b/g streaming and integrated speakers.

I had an opportunity to experience the DreamScreen first-hand and must admit that the duo would likely make great gifts for anyone. The DreamScreen 130 seems ideal for coffee tables or on a fireplace mantel, while the DreamScreen 100 would fit perfectly on a nightstand or dresser. The onboard speakers sound great and there are even built in connections to accommodate headphones and additional speakers. The HP DreamScreen 100 is available today, priced at $249, while the HP DreamScreen 130 will drop in October, priced at $299.

HP DreamScreen press release:

PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 17, 2009 – People now can stay current with Facebook friends and photos, listen to Pandora Internet radio, share Snapfish personal photos and enjoy their music and pictures from home networked PCs(1) with a new category of connected screens from HP.

The HP DreamScreen, a companion to the PC, connects easily to a wireless or wired network to bring photos, music and video into any area of the home. The screen also transforms social media and web information into consumable, bite-sized pieces.
“Constant, always-on access to friends, information and entertainment is a common expectation today,” said Satjiv S. Chahil, senior vice president, worldwide marketing, Personal Systems Group, HP. “With HP DreamScreen, social media, web services and digital entertainment can be enjoyed in more areas of the home.”

The HP DreamScreen features a piano-black design with a vibrant, flush glass widescreen display. The DreamScreen 100 (measuring 10.2 inches) was designed to fit perfectly on a nightstand or dresser. The HP DreamScreen 130 (measuring 13.3 inches) is ideal for kitchen counters and coffee tables.

A product demonstration is available at www.hp.com/go/dreamscreen.

Enjoying digital entertainment
The HP DreamScreen comes with 2 gigabytes of built-in memory for storing photos, music and home movies directly on the device. Digital content can be loaded and played using a USB drive or most types of flash memory cards. Photos and music can be streamed wirelessly or moved to the HP DreamScreen by a simple “drag and drop” motion from a networked PC with included software.

Finding and playing songs is easy – searchable by artist, album or genre – and is enhanced with album cover art. High-fidelity speakers are built in and include connections to accommodate headphones and external speakers.

For music enthusiasts, the HP DreamScreen allows users to stream music directly from the Internet using Pandora. The custom-designed experience makes accessing Pandora accounts easy. Album cover art is displayed and users can personalize their stations by thumbing-up favorite songs or artists to refine their stations.

“Pandora’s listeners want to have access to their personalized stations on a variety of devices,” said Jessica Steel, senior vice president, Business Development, Pandora. “The HP DreamScreen makes it fun and easy for listeners to enjoy Pandora throughout their homes.”

In addition, the HP DreamScreen gives users access to HP SmartRadio, a new service that aggregates streams of live Internet broadcasts from more than 10,000 radio stations around the world. Users can now listen to their favorite radio stations on the Internet by location or genre in any part of their home.

With the HP DreamScreen’s capabilities, it becomes the “fourth screen” in people’s lives, extending the enjoyment of digital content beyond a computer, TV and mobile phone.

Staying connected
The HP DreamScreen includes 802.11 b or g wireless capabilities to access real-time information from the web. By selecting the Facebook icon, for example, users can stay up to date with their social networks while away from their computers. Friends’ status updates, photos and upcoming events can all be viewed in real time.

In addition to viewing images from a PC, flash memory card or Facebook, customers also can access their own or their friends’ Snapfish photos and albums. Photos from any of these locations can be enjoyed in slideshow mode simultaneously with music stored on the device or streamed from the user’s PC in the background.

Checking time, day and weather
The HP DreamScreen also helps people prepare for and organize their day with access to five-day weather forecasts for cities around the world and a view of their calendar. The HP DreamScreen’s built-in clock feature can show time in digital or analog format with dual time-zones and lets users choose tones or music for alarms.

Setting up is easy
The HP DreamScreen was designed to be fun, simple and intuitive. A remote control that nests almost invisibly on the top of the product is easy to use, and touch controls that are visible only when the border of the screen is touched provide another way to select activities or preferences. Both models come with a stand and are ready for wall mounting right out of the box.

Pricing(2) and availability: Perfect for holiday gift-giving
The HP DreamScreen 100 is available today in the United States for $249(2) from online distributors including BestBuy.com, Amazon.com and HPDirect.com. U.S. channel partners include the full range of more than 900 Best Buy retail outlets, which will be selling the HP DreamScreen 100 starting Oct. 11.

The HP DreamScreen 130 is expected to be broadly available this fall in the United States for $299.(2)

If asked what’s the next big evolution in desk lamps, I can’t imagine many people would say “why, an integrated digital photo frame, of course” but that’s what Sungale have delivered. Over at Zatz Not Funny they’ve been playing around with the unusual desk accessory, and reckon that while it pretty much delivers what it promises, they can’t help but wish it promised more.

For your money you get a mains-powered desk lamp – that uses 18 LEDs rather than traditional bulbs – with a 3.5-inch 320 x 240 LCD display sticking up out of the base. 512MB of onboard storage can be augmented either via the SD/MMC/MS card slot; a USB port allows you to hook the lamp up to your computer

In the end, though, it’s of limited value when the sticker price is $89.99. Streaming internet video would make a big difference, but solid video playback performance and in-a-pinch MP3 playback don’t quite add up to a must-have gadget.

When Korean firm mintpass aren’t working on the mintpad MID, they’re busy at the design-board sketching out concept prototypes for your minimalist home. One of their most interesting designs – especially since they’ve talked about next-generation mintpads with larger displays – is the Mint Frame, a 7-inch touchscreen digital photo frame that not only displays pictures but, thanks to a 2-megapixel camera built into the back, takes them too.

The concept was prompted by the elderly father of one of mintpass’ designers, who was constantly pestering to have his digital photos printed out since he found transferring them to a computer too tricky. Instead, the Mint Frame is designed to take and display the photos all by itself, with a rear camera (with flash) and a front camera for self-portraits. Resolution is purposefully kept low, since the screen is only 7-inches, and there’s an SD card slot and USB port for getting them off the display (when your grandkids visit and can do it for you).

Unfortunately there’s no sign of a production version, but we can hope mintpass bear the Mint Frame in mind when they’re working on the mintpad v.2. More renders over at the mintpass site.

We’ve been historically harsh on digital photo frames here at SlashGear, callously tossing out anything that lacks wireless connectivity. That given, we’re understandably interested in WonderMedia‘s SmartFrame; while only a reference design right now, the touchscreen frame is apparently the first to carry that coveted “Compatible with Windows 7″ badge.

That gives the SmartFrame more than just a fancy sticker to mess up its clean bezel with, though; it means that it’s perfectly placed to use Windows 7′s “Play To” feature which allows PC users to funnel content to different displays with a simple click. The SmartFrame can show onboard video, photos and audio, or stream it from a DLNA compatible local network source; however it will also play internet-based content such as video, games, email and newsfeeds.

Lurking inside (and performing all of the magic) is WonderMedia’s PRIZM chipset, an ARM-based board with integrated DSP and video processing together with networking hardware. The company plan to use this SoC for future Windows 7-compatible media products, including media hubs and streamers. No word when we might see them on shelves, however, nor with what company branding.

Press Release:

WonderMedia SmartFrame First Digital Photo Frame To Earn “Compatible with Windows 7″ Logo

WonderMedia customers can confidently prepare exciting new SmartFrame-based devices able to leverage a collection of Windows 7 features designed to improve the user experience

Taipei, Taiwan, August 26, 2009 – WonderMedia Technologies, Inc, a leading innovator of feature-rich system-on-chip platforms, today announced that the WonderMedia SmartFrame Reference Design Kit (RDK) is the first Digital Photo Frame (DPF) Digital Media Renderer (DMR) to pass the “Compatible with Windows 7″ logo program from Microsoft Corp.

Based on the WonderMedia PRIZM platform and controlled either through a touch interface or via PC, the WonderMedia SmartFrame is an Internet-enabled DPF that enhances the digital home environment by providing access not only to photos stored on local hard drives or online, but also email, games, video, news, documents and a whole host of web services.

DMRs developed around the WonderMedia SmartFrame RDK are able to connect to Windows 7-based PCs by using UPnP and Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) standards. With the PC acting as the controller, new Windows 7 features, such as the Windows Media Player Play To feature, make sharing media with networked devices truly user-friendly.

Qualifying for the “Compatible with Windows 7″ logo program ensures that WonderMedia customers are able to reduce the time-to-market of a range of instant-on, Internet-centric electronic devices built around a platform with support for features that take advantage of the latest Windows 7 innovations, guaranteeing a reliable and trouble-free experience with the new operating system.

“We are delighted to be the first company to have a DPF DMR device certified as compatible with Microsoft’s much-anticipated Windows 7,” said Tzumu Lin, CEO of WonderMedia Technologies, Inc. “The WonderMedia SmartFrame RDK offers proven and certified building blocks for Windows 7-based devices, allowing end-users to enjoy the full Windows 7 experience and optimal system performance.”

About the WonderMedia PRIZM Platform
The WonderMedia SmartFrame RDK is powered by the WonderMedia PRIZM platform – a leading-edge SoC technology that integrates a high performance ARM processor, programmable DSP core, and video decoding and processing hardware together with essential memory, networking and peripheral controllers.

Other WonderMedia PRIZM-based Networked Media Devices (NMDs) include the SmartPlayer, which takes content from a variety of sources such as websites, memory cards, content stored on DLNA-enabled digital media servers and USB storage devices, and displays it on a living room or bedroom TV, and the SmartTouch, which extends the functionality of the familiar DPF design to allow the display of pictures from a camera, movie playback, use of VoIP technology and constant access to web content like news, weather, podcasts, social networking applications and more, all at the touch of a finger.

More information on WonderMedia Smart designs and the WonderMedia PRIZM platform can be found at: www.wondermedia.com.tw

Inside the base station there’s 128MB of storage together with a multiformat card reader; you can load new images via infrared. Battery life is tipped at 200hrs standby or 6hrs voice-call talktime. If you’re not displaying photos then the touchscreen will show a clock or calendar, or mixture of the two.

The Sharp JD-7C1CL/CW will appear on Japanese shelves come September 25th, though price is yet to be confirmed. It’ll be available in both black and white.

Considering you can find SD cards, PMPs and even fridges packing WiFi these days, it’s something of a surprise that so few digital photo frames include wireless connectivity. One such exception is the Sungale ID800WT Widget Photo Frame, an 8-inch 800 x 600 touchscreen display which not only promises to show off your holiday snaps – whether locally stored or in an online gallery – but YouTube, GMail and internet radio, too. Unfortunately, as Zatz Not Funny discovered, the reason so few frames include WiFi is perhaps because the manufacturers handle it so poorly.

Setup is simple, and the weather widget – which relies on your ZIP code to locate itself – works well. Unfortunately, if you’ve any greater ambitions than using the ID800WT as a glorified weather station then you may be disappointed: the YouTube and internet radio widgets could be persuaded to work only once or twice, the GMail viewer shows just a few lines of each message, it refused to connect to Picasa and the news widget, while functional, is hardly visually appealing.

The end result is something that reviewer Mari Silbey describes as “decent as a standard digital photo frame, but it’s not the tablet of the future”. Somehow it’s hard to justify around $165 on something that delivers pretty much the same as counterparts less than half the price.

Kodak announced a new digital picture frame today called the EasyShare S730. It’s simple and offers a limited feature set, but it most definitely gets the job done if all you’re looking for is a picture frame that shows off your favorite images.

Notably, this picture frame lacks Wi-Fi, but you don’t have to plug it in to use it, thanks to a rechargeable battery. You can get about an hour of life out of this thing. Measuring in at 7-inches, this frame has a Picture Finder feature, that lets you categorize your images.

There’s also a slideshow and collage mode as well as a calendar and a clock. There’s 1GB of memory and you can attach a USB drive for added space. It will play music and videos as well. You can get the Kodak EasyShare S730 in Europe now for about $207 and it’ll be available in the U.S. in September for $139.

SilverPac have announced [pdf link] their SilverFrame Advanced Digital Picture Frame (ADPF) at Computex 2009, and as the name might suggest this is miles apart from the cheap photo display you can find in Best Buy bargain bins. The ADPF runs Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2 and supports Windows SideShow and Windows Live FrameIt for displaying online content on its 10.1-inch 1024 x 576 touchscreen.

What that means is that the frame will not only show local photos, play video and stream music from across a network, but it can sync with your calendar, show emails and allow for replies, and view photos from Picasa, Photobucket, Facebook and a Windows Live account. Connectivity includes WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.0, infrared (for the remote control), a multiformat memory card slot and both full-sized USB and a micro-USB port.

The whole thing is driven by a Freescale processor with 512MB of RAM and 1GB of flash storage, and there are twin 1.5W speakers plus a rotation sensor that will automatically flip the screen orientation. In addition to photo frame and internet widget duty, it can also run Internet Explorer and various IM clients.

The SilverFrame is on show at the Microsoft stand at Computex, but there’s no word on a release unfortunately. SilverPac are an OEM and as such are looking for a brand who will pick up the design; until that happens, there’s no way of knowing even whether it will reach the market, never mind for how much.

T-Mobile USA’s Cameo wireless digital photo frame always faired well in reviews for its usability and functionality, but less palatable were the sticker price and monthly service charge. At launch, the photo frame – which can receive images via MMS or email over T-Mobile’s cellular network – cost $99.99 while the monthly fee was $9.99; now the carrier has apparently dropped those costs to just $39.99 and $1.99 respectively.

That brings the 7-inch Cameo back in line with similarly-sized, non-wireless photo frames, which obviously lack its ability to display pictures that have been squirted from cellphones or other mobile devices. There’s no contract involved, so you can let the wireless service lapse and instead merely use the Cameo with an SD card and USB connection, transferring photos from your computer.

Unfortunately it’s not possible to buy the Cameo online, you’ll need to stop by your nearest T-Mobile USA store. Still, if you’ve a tech-phobic friend or grandparent who’d still like to see your holiday snaps, it could be worth the trip.

LG and Kodak have signed a deal that will see the latter’s OLED technology used in upcoming LG products, including TVs, cellphone displays and digital photo frames. The first LG devices using Kodak OLED systems are expected to reach the market by the end of 2009, according to Andrew Sculley, GM and VP of Kodak’s Display Group.

Update: Kodak have clarified that the deal was in fact signed in 2008, and that the claim of commercial products “by the end of the year” is unconfirmed.

Full details of the deal have not been revealed, and nor are we certain of which exact technologies have been licensed. Kodak already sells one OLED product, its Wireless OLED Picture Frame, a 7.6-inch panel which retails for a massive $999. The panel itself is believed to be sourced from Chi Mei EL.

Kodak has discussed producing OLED panels larger than 20-inches, mass-scale production of which has up until now proved financially unfeasible. The first LG/Kodak products are likely to be digital picture frames and small TVs to take on the Sony XEL-1.

Digital Foci has dressed up a portable multimedia player with a soft leader case and a built-in battery, as a contemporary digital portfolio art book, and readied to showcase at the upcoming PMA 2009. Dubbed “PBK-080 “, the Photo Book features a 8-inch 4:3 SVGA LCD, built-in speakers and a large 4GB built-in memory, along with a host of multimedia card readers to support music, video and digital still image playbacks.

Digital Foci’s app allows easy media transfers from PC, MAC, USB or connected flash drive to the Photo book’s internal memory, or one can simply use the player to access the media files directly via an attached external USB device. Images captured or formatted in JPEG, TIFF, BMP, GIF to camera RAWs (see supported models below), along with EXIF data, are viewable on the screen, and it supports photo slideshows with zoom, pan and rotate functions. A built-in rechargeable battery is included, and can last up to two and a half hour of continued use.

Priced at $189, Digital Foci’s Photo Book will be available from May at major online retailers and company’s online store.

With new features continue to evolve in digital frames, it’s hard to differ nowadays’ photo frames from PMP or MID devices. They stay stationary and much bigger but not longer burden a single role digital slideshow device for photo display. A recent Japanese frame maker even went as far as incorporating a digital TV tuner.

We’ve seen digital frames with weather forecast, Wifi, OLED touchscreen, DLNA-compliant and many of them incorporate music and video playbacks. By-Design DP-1001DW is a step ahead with a built-in Terrestrial digital tuner to receive Japanese broadcasting on its 10.2-inch display with 800×480 pixel resolution. The LCD is capable of 300 cd/m2 brightness and 200:1 contrast. In additional of tuning digital signals, it reads JPEG, WMA and Dvix media files from an onboard 64MB memory, USB connected storage or memory readers from SD, MMC, memory stick PRO, Duo and PRO Duo.

Estimated price tag at 49,800 yen ($540), the By-Design DP-1001DW is out of reach for a digital frames, not to mention the tuner is not operable in US region, the $900 Kodak’s OLED frame looks like a much-geeky investment.

i-Mate have announced that they will be closing down their Momento Live online photo sharing service on February 25th, meaning users of their WiFi-enabled Momento photo frames will no longer be able to send and receive images automatically. In an email sent to all subscribers, i-Mate warned users that they will need to backup any images stored on Momento Live, as once the service terminates they will be deleted.

Thankfully, as well as Momento Live, the i-Mate digital photo frames also support RSS feeds for new photos, meaning that there’s still a way to semi-automate getting new images onto the displays. However certain features, such as sending photos direct to a frame from a cellphone, or adding messages to pictures, will now be far more difficult without i-Mate’s system.

The news has understandably frustrated those who bought i-Mate Momento frames over the holiday period, expecting to be able to take advantage of the online system. i-Mate has not given any reason for its termination of the service.

i-Mate email:

Dear Member,

The Momento Live service will be terminated on February 25, 2009. After that date you will not have access to the Momento Live website or services. However, your Momento frame will be unaffected so you can continue to enjoy viewing your photos on your frame.

The closure of Momento Live web site means you can no longer store your photos on the Momento Live server and/or and share your photos with other Momento Live members.

Important note! Any pictures that you have stored on Momento Live server will be permanently lost after February 25, 2009. If you have any images stored on the Momento Live server, please ensure you have a copy of them stored on your PC. Any images that are hosted on Flickr, Picasa, SmugMug, or similar services will not be affected.

When currently visiting the Momento Live web site you may receive a website security warning as the SSL certificate has expired and will not be renewed. Please ignore this message. You are welcome to continue onto the website to retrieve your images.

Press Release:

TRENDnet Launches the First-To-Market 7″ Wireless Internet Camera and Photo Monitor

TORRANCE, Calif. -December 18, 2008-TRENDnet, a best-in-class wired and wireless networking hardware brand, today announces the launch of the first-to-market 7″ Wireless Internet Camera and Photo Monitor, model TV-M7. The world’s first 7″ Wireless Internet Camera and Photo Monitor connects to your wireless network, detects wired and wireless TRENDnet Internet Security Cameras and streams camera video wirelessly in real-time. It also acts like a photo frame-it displays photo slideshows and plays personal videos and music.

Users previously needed a computer to view streaming video from Internet security cameras, with the TV-M7 users can view video while their computer is turned off. The devise also enables users to monitor up to 4 TRENDnet Internet cameras on one screen or scan between cameras to wirelessly monitor key entry points, property, public areas, baby rooms, warehouses, office environments and other sensitive areas.

Wireless technology allows users to place the 7″ Wireless Internet Camera and Photo Monitor in the most convenient locations, without the clutter and hassle of a wired connection. This is the first solution to deliver real time video surveillance to the Kitchen, living area, home office or anywhere consumers have access to their wireless network.

The 7″ Wireless Internet Camera and Photo Monitor is also designed for use in business environments. Many security posts do not have wired network access -the TV-M7 can be installed quickly at security posts with access to a wireless Local Area Network. Receptionists can use this device to monitor surveillance cameras while working on their computer. This product is also well suited for managerial use, surveillance stations and warehouse monitoring.

Place the high resolution LCD monitor on a table top, or mount it vertically or horizontally on a wall. Use the remote control to view and store content from a wireless network, from the 512MB of built-in memory or from digital camera memory cards. The Slideshow function supports both JPEG and BMP pictures with maximum resolution of up to 16384 x 16384 pixels. It also displays Flickr and Picasa Web photo albums from respective online picture files. Video play back feature in MJPEG, MPEG1 and MPEG-4 formats.
“We are excited to launch this innovative first-to-market product that delivers tangible surveillance security to home and business users,” stated Pei Huang, President and CEO of TRENDnet. “Consumers used to be confined to viewing IP camera video from their respective computers. This product changes the way we use IP cameras and boosts the security benefit that they provide.”
