Fujifilm has announced a new range of super-zoom bridge cameras in the company's S-Series line-up at CES 2011, including the new FinePix S3200, S3300, S3400 and S4000, and the 18x FinePix S2950. Samsung SH100 WiFi digicam gets remote Galaxy S control

Samsung has unveiled its latest WiFi-enabled digital camera, the Samsung SH100, with a 14.2-megapixel CCD sensor and a 3-inch LCD preview display. It's the wireless connectivity that makes the SH100 particularly impressive, however. Not only can you use it to upload photos and video direct to Facebook, Picasa and YouTube, among others, you can also pair it with a Samsung Galaxy S and use the smartphone to remotely preview the frame, snap the shot and even GPS tag it. Spectec CameraJet adds UWB wireless to your digital camera

Up until now, unless you've bought a WiFi-enabled camera or an Eye-Fi card, getting photos off of your digital camera usually involves plugging in a USB cable or whipping out the memory card. Spectec want to change all that; they've slotted an Alereon UWB radio into their CameraJet Wireless system, with the SD Wi-Jet Card SDU-7200 going into your camera and the USB Wi-Jet Dongle SDU-7500 going into your computer. Swann Security SportsCam rugged/waterproof digicam made for bumps

Swann Security has unveiled its waterproof, ruggedized SportsCam ahead of CES 2011, a compact still and video camera capable of withstanding up to 65-feet submersion as well as the sort of shocks, knocks and bumps you might experience when snowboarding, pig wrestling or falling out of trees. The SportsCam captures 640 x 480 video or stills to its removable microSD card, with a 16GB card good for up to 5hrs of video. A new Olympus compact camera has leaked ahead of its official release at CES 2011 next week, along with details on a new range of Sony shooters. The Olympus XZ-1, so 43rumors sources say, has the same 1:1.63 size 10.1-megapixel sensor as the Panasonic LX5 but paired with a 28-112mm f/1.8-2.5 lens. Meanwhile, according to Sony Alpha Rumors, Sony will bring along compact cameras capable of 1080p60 recording in AVCHD format, while contrast auto-focus is tipped to be as fast as that on the Panasonic LUMIX GH2. According to 43rumors, the E-PL2 has a new high-resolution 3-inch 460k-dot LCD and will be paired with a 14-42mm f3.5/5.6 MSC (Movie & Still Compatible) kit lens; optionally, it can also be used with the Olympus PENPAL, a Bluetooth dongle that attaches to the E-PL2's hot-shoe and wirelessly sends photos to Android or Windows Phone 7 smartphones. Canon wants your NFC smartphone as a DSLR screen in new patent application

As patent application illustrations go, Canon hasn't exactly pushed the boat out this time, but there's enough to see that the company is interested in how digital cameras and cellphones might one day talk among themselves. In an application titled "Communication Device and Control Method Thereof", Canon outlines a system whereby NFC - or another short-range wireless technology - could be used to turn your cellphone display into an ad-hoc viewer for content on your digital camera, as well as transferring content across or updating settings.
