Samsung NX30 Smart Camera adds flexible EVF and new S-line lenses

Samsung has revealed a new smart camera, the Samsung NX30, running the company's SMART 3.0 software for easy uploads of its 20.3-megapixel images to Dropbox, Flickr, and social networks. Launching officially at CES 2014 next week, the NX30 has an APS-C CMOS sensor with Hybrid Auto Focus, up to 9fps continuous shooting, and an ISO 100-25600 range, along with both a 3-inch swiveling AMOLED display and a tilting 1024 x 768 electronic viewfinder. There are also two new lenses to go along with the new camera.

Barbie 240p cameras used by pro Philip Bloom to film short movie

The folks over at DigitalRev TV got Philip Bloom, a well-known blogger and cinematographer, to take on a cheap camera challenge, which equips professionals with cheap cameras and gives them a task to complete with it. In this case, DigitalRev equipped Bloom with two very low-resolution cameras integrated in Barbie dolls, flew him to Hong Kong, and kicked off what turned out to be a very humorous filming experience.

Snooperscope is a night vision camera for your smartphone, hits Kickstarter goal

Soon joining the likes of olloclip's Macro 3-in-1 iPhone clip-on lens and similar products will be the Snooperscope, a night vision camera that attaches to the back of one's handset and offers recording in a no-light environment. The Snooperscope is being funded on Kickstarter, where it's funding campaign has hit and exceeded its goal. Mass distribution is planned for June 2014.

Sony has done a little recycling with the RX10 camera, but when it's re-using the 20.2-megapixel sensor from the much-loved RX100 Mk.II we can't complain too much.
