Diablo III summer patches and hotfixes announced

The folks at Blizzard Entertainment have released a gigantic update to the game Diablo III that will have all gamers jumping for joy - unless you're a Monk. This update will have the Monk class pushed back in several ways - specifically in the rune department where what you love and know as Overawe is, as Blizzard says, "good, but we don't think it's so far out of line that we're going to swoop in and hotfix it out of existence." As for the rest of the fixes, they're all coming for the same reason as this first hotfix: balance.

Diablo III PvP patch tipped by Blizzard

Diablo III PvP patch tipped by Blizzard

The most successfully launched game of all time Diablo III has had a massive set of updates tossed at it today by its creator, Blizzard Entertainment, along with news of an upcoming Player Versus Player (PvP) patch. One of the more entertaining elements of the predecessor to this game, Diablo II, was players' ability to fight one another in character vs character combat. Losers dropped their gear and a single human ear with their name and level attached to it, and the winner took the spoils. All that may very well be coming around again soon for D3.

Its official: Blizzard and Battle.NET have announced that Diablo III's new Real-Money Auction House will be launching on the 29th of May. Diablo III error apology issued by Blizzard

The folks at Blizzard and their servers at Battle.NET are currently hard at work to fix any and all issued that have arisen here on launch week for Diablo III, so says their brand new apology for fans posted today. This game has been in the works for more than 10 years and has had so many beta tests going on for months now that its nearly unfathomable that any issues might still exist in the codes of the game and the servers it exists on, but such is life: there's no real test better than thousands of real players jumping in on the game in the first real final launch.

Diablo III Server Status page helps the war weary

Diablo III Server Status page helps the war weary

Since Blizzard is used to working with online players and has been providing online games for some time now, they've gone ahead and had Battle.NET (their main servers for all powerful games like Diablo III) set up a server status page for all players. What you're going to be able to see here is, if you've got a "server unavailable" message, whether or not the whole server you're used to playing on is actually down or if it's just you who is experiencing the outage. This is exactly the sort of page I would have loved to have had back in highschool for Diablo II, I can tell you that!
