Throwable Panoramic Ball Camera details released, still seeks investors

Back in October we first mentioned the next generation in image capturing, that being the Throwable Panoramic Ball Camera as developed at Professor Marc Alexa's Computer Graphics Group at Technische University in Berlin - today what we've got is a whole new batch of details on the ball as well as a renewed call to action by the group as they start their search for a third party to license out further development and production! We've also got this nifty photo of the ball as it currently appears opened up, guts exposed and everything - how about that? Is this the panoramic third dimension of photo collection you've been waiting for all your life?

HP radical brand redesign proposal revealed

HP radical brand redesign proposal revealed

HP's identity could certainly use a makeover and apparently the company has been actively looking into making some changes during the past few years. Moving Brands, a company specializing in branding, was hired back in 2008 to re-envision HP's image and has come up with something that was apparently too radical for HP's tastes. The branding company has recently made the project available for the public to take a look, including rendered images and videos.

Compleat disposable coffee cup axes the lid, startup set to score big

Compleat disposable coffee cup axes the lid, startup set to score big

Designer Peter Herman has created a concept for the all-paper disposable cup, made for coffee but perfectly viable for other liquids, that is set to blow the lid off of the industry - literally. Currently working for architectural firm Ellenzweig in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and having hacked away at this concept for over two years and a hundred prototypes now, Herman has it down to one single piece of paper. Working with graphic design firm Proverb's Daren Bascome to create the visuals you see printed on the cups here, Herman is prepping his concept for the big time now - speaking with manufacturers and retailers right this minute.

When you scan a symbol later on, the device plays back the sound you recorded at an earlier date. Can you imagine the possibilities this simple set of functions could hold? Fantabulous!

Throwable Panoramic Ball Camera has us seeing spherical potential

Throwable Panoramic Ball Camera has us seeing spherical potential

Each time there is a new way to capture media, especially when that means is inexpensive, the world goes nuts trying to see how they can show off their life and times with it. That's what's about to happen with this ball camera, the Throwable Panoramic Ball Camera, that is, a project that's currently Patent Pending and has been in the works, apparently, since back in 2010. The project has progressed to the point here in late 2011 where the designers feel it strong enough to present to the public - just toss it up in the air and at it's peak - SNAP - you've got a complete 360 degree view of the environment the ball is in. How's that for a new way of seeing things?

Infiniti Etherea at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance

Infiniti has already shown off its Etherea concept before, with the compact having made its debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, but it's getting its first public North American outing at the Concours d'Elegance here at Pebble Beach. Still eye-catching despite the familiarity, beyond the illuminated grille it's the sharply styled C-pillar that's the Etherea's main flourish, something Infiniti carried forward to the JX Concept unveiled yesterday.
