This week the folks at Dell have issued forth two of there newest notebook machines - the Dell XPS 11 2-in-1 and the Dell XPS 13. These machines are both rolling with extremely high definition displays and work with the newest in new 4th generation Haswell Intel Core processors, not to mention Gorilla Glass up front to protect that all-important screen. Both of these systems are being made available today through Dell online.

The first time we heard about the new Dell UltraSharp 32 UP3214Q monitor was back in July when word of the high-resolution device for surfaced. Dell has now announced that monitor and its UltraSharp 24 U2414H monitor are available to purchase in China right now. Unfortunately, there's no indication of when these high-resolution monitors will be available in the US and other countries.

Dell introduced the Latitude 6430u business ultrabook back in the early summer of 2012, and soon after complaints regarding a peculiar odor began surfacing on the company's product forums. According to many owners, the laptop is off-gassing an odor that smells, for lack of more sophisticated phrase, "like cat pee." Though the company responded with typical tech support advice like cleaning the vents with compressed air, today it released a more official response.

As scheduled, Dell's newest tablets, the Venue 7 and Venue 8, were released Oct. 18 to compete in the low-cost Android tablet market. Both will run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and are primed for Android 4.3. In pricing the Venue 7 at $149 and the Venue 8 at $179, Dell is positioning the tablets as an alternative to older Android systems or Windows 8.1-enabled devices for similar price classes.

Dell has taken the wraps off two new tablets in its resurrected Venue range, the Venue 8 Pro and Venue 11 Pro running Windows 8.1. The Venue 8 Pro puts Windows 8.1 on an 8-inch HD IPS touchscreen with an optional digitizer pen and the chance to add integrated LTE, with Intel Atom Baytrail under the hood. As for the Venue 11 Pro, that steps up to a Full HD 11-inch display and a detachable keyboard for easier text entry, with the same Active Stylus option.

Dell XPS 11 2-in-1 Ultrabook aims for ultra-thinness to make tablet mode viable

The multi-form notebook with touchscreen abilities is a form factor that appears to be alive and well here in 2013, and Dell wants the world to know that they're all about continuing to innovate with the 2-in-1 2013 edition of the Dell XPS 11 this morning. What we're seeing here is what Dell calls the world's thinnest, lightest, and most compact 2-in-1 Ultrabook headed to the market today. They've made the case with a 2.5 pound body and between 11 and 15mm thickness on this XPS 11 machine, made with a rotating hinge so it can be a tablet just as easy as it can a notebook.
