We're getting dangerously close to that ever-so-spooky howliday, and the gadgets just aren't reflecting it at all! I suppose that's how it goes though, it's only one day, no use in making a pumpkin themed telephone for that. In honor of the most smashing of days coming up though, I did carve a pumpkin for you. It's also in celebration of me finally downloading what I now realize is the greatest tiny game ever made. See if you can tell what it is. I carved it for you. And then, of course, we've got a fantastic FREE LG OPTIMUS T in a Halloween contest too!

Welcome to one giant jungle cat of a Daily Slash, so wild and crazy I keep calling it the daily Slasher in my head. Two giant bits of news hit at once: the Back to the Mac event and the release of Windows Phone 7 handsets (hint: we've got three of em to look at!) Plus a whole torrent of other wonderful and fabulous bits of news that'd otherwise be big but was sort of CRUSHED by those two big guns. Shall we? Let's begin!

How many of you are still reeling from that Apple keynote this morning? We understand where you're coming from. Those features are a long time coming, but it looks to us that Apple has indeed made it worth the wait. Then again, you might have a different opinion altogether. Thank goodness we have the Daily Slash to distract us from all that Apple news, right? Right. And sure enough, we're going to make sure that we skimp the Cupertino-based news in tonight's edition. First up, with the Best of R3, we've got a seemingly confirmed release date for a pretty incredible device. And then we've got a giveaway to announce on EI. And finally, a little leak for the right moment. And finally, in the dredge net, we've pulled up a cordless light that activates based on movement. We've also got a pretty awesome invention that'll help you if you're lost in the woods. And finally, we get some more confirmation about two new devices from RIM and LG.

The Daily Slash: April 7th 2010

It's Wednesday. And interestingly enough, we're probably not the only ones considering today "the day before." The day before what? Well, it's the day before we get to fire up our legendary, homegrown liveblogging system again. We'll be at the iPhone OS 4.0 event, and hopefully you'll join us as we detail what's going down with the latest software update from Cupertino. Until then, we've got tonight's Daily Slash. As we go forth, we'll look into the best of the best in the R3 Media's network. And in the dredge net, we've got the most notorious eReader rumored to make a retail appearance soon, and we have Nintendo telling the world that the iPad isn't for gaming. Then we've got lightsabers that will save your from the dark. And finally, a cellphone that goes way out of its way to be ridiculous.

It's the first of the month, and here we are, at the end of the day, bringing you another Daily Slash. Tonight's pretty big, but we'll make sure that you don't miss a thing. First, we've got a helmet that just might save your life. Near the middle of our late night story, we've got two tales from the automobile industry: one hits a milestone, and another offers up a pretty nice gift package. Finally, two iPad stories that will make you look twice at the tablet from Apple.

The Daily Slash: March 29th 2010

Can you feel the anticipation for the end of the week? Despite the fact it's only Monday, there's definitely more than just a handful of people out there waiting for the weekend. Nevertheless, welcome to another edition of the Daily Slash, where we bring you the other interesting pieces of news you may have missed during the daily grind. In tonight's issue, we have a few iPad stories that boast ridiculous numbers, as well as a little bit of (figurative) gold goodness. We've managed to wrangle up a DIY story that's destined to make you want to get medieval on someone you know, and we've got bookends straight from a galaxy far, far away. And, to tie it all up, we've got the end of an era. Got that popcorn ready? Great. Let's do it.

We do our very best here at SlashGear to bring you the latest intelligence from the huge, and still growing world of the tech industry. But, as it stands, we’re only human, and sometimes we’re just not able to bring you every single piece of information we get our hands on. It’s unfortunate, but we also don’t want to give you any kind of sensory overload throughout the day. We realized that there were still a lot of great stories out there, so we wanted to bring them to your attention, in a nice, orderly fashion. That’s why we have the Daily Slash, where we’ll bring you a daily wrap-up of all the cool, interesting, or just plain shiny stuff we find.
