Top four US mobile providers agree to Wireless Consumer Usage Notification Guidelines

Before the government can force them to do something more drastic, each of the top four mobile service providers in the USA have announced today that they've agreed to voluntary industry guidelines amid cell phone bill shock that includes sending customers alerts before they reach their monthly voice, text, and data limits. Are you one of those people who freaks out each month when you realized you've actually used 15GB of data when your limit was 2GB? Bills smashing your wallet so hard you're thinking of taking out a mortgage on your home to continue use of your iPhone or Android or BlackBerry device? Those days are at an end!

SlashGear Week in Review – Week 13 2011

Welcome to another SlashGear Week in Review! This week was a big one in the mobile world with CTIA underway and lots more going in. We learned that AT&T had offered to purchase T-Mobile for $39 billion. AT&T hopes to repurpose some of the T-Mobile spectrum for 4G service. The full details of the HTC Evo 3D and Evo View 4G tablet surfaced early in the week. The Evo 3D has a 4.3-inch screen and a 1.2GHz processor and should be an interesting device.

CTIA’s website has listed the finalists for its E-Tech awards and two unannounced LG phones made the list. No information about the mysterious phones was given out, but rumors are that they will be on the T-Mobile network. The other finalists for the awards are the Motorola Atrix, HTC Thunderbolt, and the LG Revolution.

Verizon to Detail 4G Launch at CTIA Tomorrow

The details surrounding Verizon's launch into 4G may not be completely outlined yet, but there's been plenty of leaks, and rumors, floating around for awhile now that many already have a pretty clear picture as to what is going to happen shortly. Putting it plainly, Verizon is set to roll-out its LTE-based 4G network in just a matter of weeks, with a significant amount of coverage rolled out by the end of 2010. But, rumors and suggestions aren't good enough, so now it's time for Verizon's Chief Operating Officer and President, Lowell McAdam, to take the stage at CTIA and give a detailed rundown of what's going to happen, and when we should expect it to happen.

A new cellular carrier based out of Las Vegas has started up their new service featuring an unlimited calling and unlimited data plan. Zer01 Communications is giving customers the chance, starting in June, to utilize their data and cellular services as much as they want for $70 a month. $69.95 will buy you uncapped data and unlimited calling, meaning you can surf the internet all you want on an available WinMo device, or a bring-your-own unlocked GSM BlackBerry or Android phone. I'm assuming you'll be able to tether those devices and use the data with your laptop too.
