PMP manufacturer Ainol are better known for thier media players, but the company apparently also has an Android tablet in the works. The so-far unnamed slate was first rumored earlier this month, with a 1280 x 800 IPS capacitive touchscreen, SoChip Cortex-A9 processor and Android 3.0 Honeycomb, and now a batch of teaser shots have been shared with MP4Nation. The PandaBoard Cortex-A9 OMAP4 developer board we mentioned at the start of the month has gone on sale, priced at a reasonable $174.  Based around a dual-core 1GHz chip with 1GB of RAM, WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1, the PandaBoard supports 1080p 30fps output via HDMI and is intended to allow developers to whip up OMAP4-compatible apps in Android, Angstrom, Chrome, MeeGo and Ubuntu. The ST-Ericsson partnership between STMicroelectronics and Ericsson may only be young - the two firms founded the wireless semiconductor development project in February 2009 - but they're already showing off some interesting wares.  The ST-Ericsson U8500 uses an ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore SMP dual-core processor paired with the ARM Mali-400 OpenGL ES2.0 and OpenVG1.1 GPU; together, they're capable of outputting 1080p HD video in a smartphone form-factor.
