Corning flexible Willow Glass revealed for ultra-slim power

At the Society for Information Display's Display Week in Boston, Corning has revealed that they've begun working on their next-generation flexible Willow Glass. This glass will be made for what we must assume will be flexible displays on mobile devices and will allow the possibility of displays being "wrapped" around a device or structure. Corning Willow Glass is able to be processed at temperatures up to 500 degrees C, this allowing manufacturers to move forward with continuous "roll-to-roll" processes, a "long awaited industry milestone" in manufacturing efficiency.

Corning Gorilla Glass 2 detailed

Corning has come correct this week with their second big iteration of the glass that's almost certainly on the front of your smartphone if you purchased a device inside 2011 - Gorilla Glass 2 they call it, and details have been dropped. What you'll be getting here, basically, is a 20 percent reduction in necessary glass thickness with the same resistance to damage that made Corning's solution so popular through the last year. It's "higher functionality from thinner designs" all around this year, and Tough is still Beautiful!
