MSI Wind Top AE220, AE2410 and AE2050 Intel and AMD touchscreen all-in-ones debut

MSI has unveiled three new Wind Top all-in-one desktop PCs at CES 2011 today, the Intel Sandy Bridge based Wind Top AE2210 and AE2410, and the AMD Brazos based Wind Top AE2050. All three feature 16:9 aspect multi-touch touchscreens - 22-inches on the AE2210, 24-inches on the AE2410, and 20-inches on the AE2050 - together with USB 3.0 ports for high-speed connectivity.

Intel push Core 2011 chips for entertainment; Intel Insider 1080p HD movie store

Intel made its Sandy Bridge based 2011 Core i3, i5 and i7 processors official earlier this week, but it's still making a song & dance about them at CES 2011 today. More than 500 desktop and laptop PCs using the chips are expected to debut in 2011, with features like Intel Quick Sync Video - for speedy transcoding - and WiDi 2.0. Meanwhile there's also Intel Insider, a hardware feature of the chips for purchasing and renting 1080p HD movies on their PC.

HP Pavilion PCs get Intel/AMD refresh plus Radeon graphics

HP hasn't just been reworking its notebooks with new Intel and AMD CPUs and GPUs; the company's Pavilion desktops have also seen a refresh. The new Pavilion, Slimline and Elite models kick off from $300, $330 and $600 respectively when they arrive on January 9 2011, with the HP Pavilion p6700 starting things off with a Pentium E5700 processor while the HP Elite HPE-500 kicks off with an AMD Phenom II 1045T hexacore.

Mainstream and SOHO laptops generally aren't especially inspiring, but at least Lenovo has tried to differentiate the new V Series machines with slick aluminum casings and covers, and 21mm-thick chassis. The Lenovo IdeaPad V370, V470 and V570 hit the 13.3-, 14- and 15.6-inch screen sizes respectively (each running at 1366 x 768), paired with up to Intel Core i7 second-gen Sandy Bridge CPUs and up to 8GB of RAM.

The IdeaPad Z470 and Z370 come with eye-catching fuchsia, sky blue or dark brown transparent covers, while the Z570 is a little more sensible with an Accutype chiclet keyboard and metallic-effect casing.
