acerm77201The Intel Core i7 processor just keeps making an appearance all over the place these days. In fact, Acer just announced today that they will be selling the Aspire M7720 beginning this month, which will feature the latest and greatest in processing.

The Acer Aspire M7720, which is the first desktop powered by Intel Core i7 in the Acer arsenal, will be available in Taiwan only starting on November 29th as per the IT Month 2008 event. Specs will include the quad-core 2.66GHz Core i7 920 processor, 3GB of RAM and more. In fact, the RAM is expandable all the way up to 12GB.

This computer is also set to feature an ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics card with 1GB of memory. A 750GB hard drive is also included, rounding out this powerhouse of a package. The base model of the Acer Aspire M7720 will retail for about $1,200.

elveon 220x260Well this is interesting. A bunch of companies have been coming out with computers that have a Core i7 processor lately, but I bet you never thought you’d see this brand name included in that list: Commodore. Yup, as in the maker of the Commodore 64.

The Core i7 will be included in the company’s gaming rigs mostly. And though they have not announced any new models at this time, they have added the Core i7 to the list of possible build options when you’re ordering a computer.

Both the GX and XX models will gain the Core i7 option. The former includes a 1GB ATI Radeon graphics card and costs $3,399 and the latter includes the Core i7 965 Extreme Edition and dual 2GB Radeon graphics cards for $5,999. New processor or not, that’s still rather expensive.

If you’d like a new Intel Core i7 machine with a Dell logo, but can’t quite stretch to the XPS 730x, you’ll be pleased to hear that there’s another option.  The Dell Studio XPS desktop uses the Core i7-920 processor as standard (the i7-940 is a $470 upgrade) paired with at least 3GB of DDR3-1333 triple-channel RAM, a 500GB 7,200rpm hard-drive and 256MB ATI Radeon HD 3450 video card, all for $949.
