Arduino-fanciers Oomlout have put together a neat control box for the popular prototyping board, complete with five potentiometers and three switches. There's also a software app that can monitor the position of each of the controls. In the process, Oomlout have (hopefully) tipped that their next product may just be an Arduino-controlled robot arm.

Logitech have set out to show Starpex that they're not the only people who can make a more realistic, wooden controller for Guitar Hero, with the launch of their Premiere Edition Wireless Guitar. Licenced by Guitar Hero publisher Activision, the controller has a wooden neck, a rosewood fingerboard and metal frets and tuners. Integrated 2.4GHz wireless gives it a 30ft range.
It's been a long time since we first played with the Novint Falcon game controller, but the force-feedback interface looks set to gain a new lease of life with a new mod for using it with Crysis. Set for release this Friday, October 24th, the mod will allow gamers to feel weapon recoils and explosions, together with acceleration and centrifugal forces when driving vehicles. The effect will also vary depending on the in-game Crysis Nano Suit.
Peak Products have finally released their Starpex Guitar Hero and Rock Band controller, made from high-gloss lacquered wood and including both wired and 2.4GHz wireless connectivity. The first model to hit shelves is the Obsidian, which as the name might suggest is black; that will be followed on October 31st by Dead Rose and Black Sunburst versions.
