KLEXL Smart Projector Lets Kids Draw on Walls Without the Mess

, Oct 15th 2010 Discuss [2]

For kids, there's a stage they go through that, at any given moment, if they've got some kind of drawing utensil, every wall they can find is a great way to express themselves. The end result is usually a frustrated parent, and plenty of cleaning. A new design from Dario Jandrijic aims to fix that with the KLEXL smart projector, which is a concept designed to let kids have their fun, but without any of the mess. Read The Full Story

Emergency Flashlight Concept Brings Two Flashlights Together with Fluorescent Rope

, Oct 12th 2010 Discuss [0]

The flashlight's design hasn't changed a lot over the years. But in a chaotic situation, where the lights have just gone out and there's a lot of people running around, usually in a wide range of ages, it could be potentially very hard to lead anyone to safety with just one flashlight. The Emergency Flashlight concept looks to change that, providing two flashlights, along with a glowing fluorescent rope, to help make sure that everyone gets out safely. Read The Full Story

Fujitsu Windows 7 Tablet concepts previewed

, Oct 8th 2010 Discuss [0]

Fujitsu's dual-display phone wasn't the only prototype the company had on show at CEATEC 2010 this week; the company also brought along a couple of tablet mockups.  Neither of the unnamed slates were functional - in fact the Windows desktops were printed onto stickers and pasted onto the front of the plastic slabs - but that didn't stop NetbookNews snapping some photos. Halo Intersceptor Brings the Car, Jet, Boat & Helicopter Together Into One Great Concept

, Oct 7th 2010 Discuss [1]

There's no denying that this is a concept. It may have been enough just to put the car up for a concept design award, as it's one of the best looking cars we've ever wanted to drive, but that's not the case for this designer. He basically wanted to throw everything into one sleek, sexy package, and that's just what he's done. Bringing together a car, a boat, helicopter, and jet, the Halo Intersceptor is a concept to beat all other concepts. Read The Full Story

Nokia E-Cu Concept Phone Charges in Your Pocket Thanks to Body Heat

, Oct 6th 2010 Discuss [2]

Having a cell phone is one thing, but having a dead cell phone, with a battery that's been depleted for hours even before you go out to hang out with your friends is another thing entirely. Even as smartphones evolve, their battery lives don't seem to be getting better at a rapid rate (due mostly because we use them more, thanks to the evolution of those smartphones). So, what if we could have a phone that just charged in your pocket, without us even thinking about it? That's where the Nokia E-Cu concept phone comes in. Read The Full Story

University of Cincinnati Researchers Create Zero Power Display

, Oct 6th 2010 Discuss [0]

While companies try to figure out ways to pack in more pixels per inch, as well as deliver resolutions that make crystal clear images, there is still a strong push on the other side of the spectrum: offer up color and video, all with a low power consumption equivalent to e-ink. A group of researchers at the University of Cincinnati have unveiled a project seven years in the making, announcing the creation of a new electrofluidics display. Read The Full Story

Buoyancy Launcher Hurls Life Preserver up to 150 Meters to Save Lives

, Oct 5th 2010 Discuss [0]

As far as a life preserver goes, there's probably not much room where things need to get improved. A ring that saves lives. But, what about the times where someone might be floating just out of your throwing range? That life preserver is only as good as far as it can be thrown. So, that's why this new life preserver launcher is such a great idea. Read The Full Story

Revo-Round Secures Funding to Create Round Computer

, Oct 5th 2010 Discuss [1]

Revo-Round is a start-up company that has a great idea. They want to create a round computer, featuring a round display, and a round body. The keyboard, and every other button you'd need, would be put onto the body of the computer, just as you'd expect to see on any other laptop available in the market now. The company, headed by Professor Zhou Hongan, just received $69 million in funds from a Silicon Valley investor to make the round computer a real thing. But, interestingly enough, this new style of computer actually serves a purpose: reverse evolution. Read The Full Story

Designed by Austria-based Robert Mathy, the fingertip caps might just be enough to bring a whole new wave to the music industry. Read The Full Story

If you frequent parties, or other social gatherings where bottles of alcohol frequently make the rounds, Medea Vodka wants to make sure that you start looking at the bottle, and not just use it to get your favorite contents into a plastic cup. The company is located in South Carolina, and their bottles are the first (according to them) to feature an LED strip around the outside of the bottle, which not only displays a message, but a message that you created.
