Lenovo Y and Z Series clamshell laptops augment C560 AiO unveiling

Lenovo has shown off an extensive collection of laptops here at CES 2014, many of which are convertible and detachable units. As far as clamshell notebooks go, the company has shown off offerings from both its Y Series and its Z Series, as well as a new all-in-one PC, the C560, that it targets at the average family that needs a desktop PC to share. Lenovo has rolled out a model update with the Horizon 2 here at CES, something that trumps its older sibling in several ways, not the least of which is a lighter weight and a profle that is "dramatically thinner". The thickness comes in at 19.5mm, which is about the depth of a deck of playing cards, something that helped reduce the machine's weight by about a solid pound. For most people, one's laptop is a like a trusted friend, packed full of data that one would not give out part and parcel to just anyone, particularly not strangers. Random laptop searches at United States borders have been taking place for years, and have been the subject of much outcry, particularly due to the complete lack of suspicion needed to perform the search. Civil rights attorneys filed a lawsuit against this activity, citing reasons of being unconstitutional, but a New York judge has dismissed their complaint, giving border agents the go-ahead.
