They came, they saw, they failed. Linux PC’s just didn’t sell enough units in stores to warrant restocking them in stores. That means that as soon as your local stores run out of stock of their Everex computers, you won’t be seeing them again.
So after several delays, the CloudBook was supposed to go on sale last Friday, those waiting at Wal-Mart were quickly disappointed when they never showed up, although the press review units apparently arrived on time. Then Everex says they’ll have them here by this Thursday (tomorrow), well, now that has apparently fallen through as well.
There is, as usual, a catch that is that it only works with Windows for now. However, on the upside, it really is a one-click backup, as in you don’t have to install any software or setup anything, you attach this device and it starts backing up files instantly.
