Polish sculptor makes a room out of old computer parts

I thought I had a lot of computer parts and gadgets in my closet, but I have nothing in this room. A Polish designer and sculptor has created this room out of some wooden studs and a bunch of old computer parts. Apparently, the parts inside the room come from three years worth of the artist's old computer gear. Hannspree has a line of interesting products that it peddles in the UK for fans of computers. I always get a kick out of digital photo frames and computer displays that are inside stuffed animals or look like sports balls. Lenovo buys Medion AG and expands presence in Europe

Lenovo made the biggest purchase since it bought the IBM PC business years ago this week. The Chinese computer company has announced that it is buying up German computer firm Medion AG in a deal that will grab Lenovo 14% of the German PC market and a 7.5% share of the overall computer market in Western Europe. The deal will see Lenovo making a public offer for all outstanding public shares of Medion AG stock at 13 euros each in cash. Read The Full Story

Dell XPS 15z notebook unveil tomorrow to fight MacBook Air

Dell has been teasing its MacBook Air competitor called the XPS 15z for a while now. The 15z is the latest machine from Dell to try to fight the MacBook Air for dominance in the market for folks looking for thin and portable machines with more than a modicum of good looks on the side. Microsoft Offers Free Xbox 360 with Select Windows 7 Notebook Purchases

For most people around the country school has either just let out or still has a little while to go before getting out. That makes the new back-to-school offer from Microsoft a little pre-mature perhaps, but it is an interesting offer. Microsoft is offering students buying a new Windows 7 computer at $699 or more a free game console along with the deal. The game console offered is a 4GB Xbox 360. CyperPower and Maingear offer Intel Z68 chipset gaming PCs and workstations

I mentioned this morning that Asus had a couple new mainboards that used the Intel Z68 chipset inside. Asus isn't the only company that is offering the new chipset today. Gaming computer markers Maingear and CyberPower have both announced new desktop computers that use the Z68 chipset. The desktops are available as gaming rigs and as workstations for the office.
