Today the watchmakers at Cadence have announced their brand new Fall lineup of 4-Bit Watches, each of them in celebration of Binary Day: 1/11/11! That's today, if you did not know, and the collection includes a fine trio: 4-Bit Retrograde, 4-Bit UTC Chrono and 4-Bit Chrono. 10,000-year clock to be built inside West Texas mountain range

10,000-year clock to be built inside West Texas mountain range

This clock under construction inside a series of caves made inside a mountain in the West Texas Sierra Diablo mountain range proves that things really are bigger in Texas. The clock is designed to keep time for the next ten thousand years. It won't be complete for many years to come, but when it is finished, it will be so awesome. The clock is apparently being designed so that the small hand moves only once per year, the larger hand moves once per century, and the thing will ring in the millennium with a special chime.

Aqua clock concept looks like Tron’s identity disk

Aqua clock concept looks like Tron’s identity disk

At first glance, it looks like Tron missed his identity disc when it was flicked back to him from someone he was trying to derez. This is actually an interesting concept clock that has turned up over on Yanko Design. Designers really like to create wild clocks that are only marginally capable of actually telling the user what time it is. The clock is filled with what appears to be colored water and has some sort of mechanism inside to change the level of the liquid.

Eclipsion wall clock gives approximate time only

Eclipsion wall clock gives approximate time only

The geek and design world has its fair share of odd clocks and wristwatches. Generally, the things are very hard to read, and if you need the exact time, you may be out of luck. If you only need to know that it's about 4:30 and not that it's 4:35 you can get by with most of these clocks and watches though. A new wall clock concept has surfaced from designer Jay Jiwoong Baek and its cool looking. The Eclipsion Wall clock reminds me of what a Tokyoflash wall clock might look like.

iPhone alarm fault allows unexpected lie-in

iPhone alarm fault allows unexpected lie-in

The transition from Daylight Savings Time over the weekend has prompted iPhone headaches, with the Apple smartphone's alarm app apparently ignoring the hour's difference despite the clock showing the correct time.  Complaints are already flooding Twitter, as confused iPhone owners find their alarms going off an hour late (giving them double that precious extra sixty minutes of Monday sleep we only get once a year).
