Toshiba readying Windows 7, Chrome OS and Android tablets for CES 2011?

It's a morning of tablets today, with Motorola's Android slate getting flaunted, iPad 2 production being teased, and now Toshiba's latest tablet ambitions leaked. According to DigiTimes, Toshiba is readying three new tablets for CES 2011, individually running Windows 7, Chrome OS and Android. Google “Mario” and “Andretti” Chrome OS netbooks in internal speed testing?

Google is tipped to be "dogfooding" two own-brand Chrome OS netbooks, internally codenamed "Andretti" and "Mario", with frequent mentions of the two computer types showing up in bug reports online. The models appear to be named after IndyCar driver Mario Andretti, known for being a particularly fast driver, and would suggest that Google is prioritizing netbook performance with its first self-branded models. There's some 3D modeling and studying of flying snakes on SlashGear, a hands on with the Marvell Android tablet, and a gaming computer employing cooled liquid to get it down to some sub-zero temps. Google Chrome OS netbooks delayed, but beta software release on track?

Google Chrome OS is unlikely to make a significant launch on physical netbook hardware before the end of 2010, missing the search giant's previously stated release window, though a beta release is still expected sometime in December 2010. CEO Eric Schmidt confirmed that Chrome OS netbooks won't be on sale for the "next few months"; however, the company also insists that it is on track for a release of some sort this year, though they are "not going into details at this point." Lenovo: LePad US launch in 2011; $15m app investment fund founded

Lenovo is talking tablets again, with Chief Executive Yang Yuanqing reconfirming the company's plans to launch the LePad in the US sometime in 2011, alongside its Chinese launch. Last month, CEO Rory Read said Lenovo would hold off from launching an Android-powered slate until Honeycomb, Google's tablet-centric version of the open-source OS; Froyo (and, presumably, the imminent Android 2.3 Gingerbread) were not "the right base to have a fully functioning pad" Read suggested. Google’s Chrome Web Store delayed until Dec tip developers

Google's Chrome Web Store has apparently been delayed, and will miss its originally tipped launch this month.  Instead, according to AllThingsD, developers creating apps for the new download store are expecting a December 6 public beta, with some having received not only special help from Google's engineers but even financial support. Gmail VoIP testing tips Google’s Chrome OS Voice plans?

Google are apparently trialling a system whereby their Google Voice VoIP app is integrated with the web-based Google Chat IM service within the Gmail interface.  According to CNET's sources, the new VoIP system is built into the existing Chat UI and allows for ingoing and outgoing calls without any locally running software. Verizon Google Chrome OS tablet by HTC launching November 26th?

Definitely one for the rumor-mill, but DownloadSquad claim to have heard from a source that HTC are building Google a Chrome OS tablet that will launch on the Verizon network in the US on November 26th.  That's a Black Friday launch, leading to speculation that Verizon will couple the slate with some seriously subsidized pricing so as to lure in would-be iPad buyers. Eric Schmidt: No Nexus Two or Google-brand Chrome OS netbook

Google has no plans for a second-generation Nexus Two smartphone, according to CEO Eric Schmidt, since the Nexus One met its desired goal of spurring on the Android hardware market.  In an interview with The Telegraph, Schmidt confirmed that "the idea a year and a half ago was to do the Nexus One to try to move the phone platform hardware business forward. It clearly did. It was so successful, we didn't have to do a second one. We would view that as positive but people criticised us heavily for that."  However, Schmidt said he doubts Google will have to follow a similar route with upcoming Google Chrome OS netbooks. Google Chrome OS to feature legacy app Chromoting

I bet you are all wondering what is "Chromoting" right now, aren't you? It's a made-up word that Google has coined for running legacy applications in Chrome OS. Google is set to launch the Chrome OS this fall, and according to one Google team member Chromoting "will also enable you to access legacy PC applications right within the browser."
