Vizio 11.6-inch Windows 8 Tablet PC hands-on

Vizio had a lot of cool things to show off at CES 2013, but one of the most exciting is its new 11.6-inch Windows 8 tablet. The tablet doesn't have a name yet, but the specifications speak for themselves. First off (and perhaps most importantly to some) is the fact that this tablet is running Windows 8 rather than Windows RT, which is great news for those who want the full Windows functionality on a slate.

Pelican offers protection for Galaxy S III with two new cases

Amid the chaos of CES 2013, we discovered that Pelican is plotting to enter the mobile case business. The company was showing off cases for the iPhone 5 and iPad, but it also had two cases for the Samsung Galaxy S III on hand and ready to show off. The cases we saw for the Galaxy S III were certainly impressive, and if you find other protective cases a bit too bulky, you might want to give these a look.

Sony VAIO T15 Touch and T14 Touch hands-on

It's all-fingers-on-screen for Sony's latest VAIO ultrabooks, the T15 Touch and T14 Touch, which each slap a 10-digit multitouch layer on top of the regular display for some swiping Windows 8 action. Pebble's smartwatch begins shipping out to Kickstarter supporters this month, but we've grabbed some early wrist-action at CES today to see what the surprise sensation is all about. It's a surprise how close it is to the original concept shown on the crowd-sourcing site, though our favorite of the color range - the transparent one, which Pebble created for water-resistance testing - won't actually be offered to buyers. Pebble talks developers, apps, watchfaces and future-proofing

The first Pebble developer SDK is already in limited testing, the company has confirmed, allowing coders to create custom watchfaces for the smartwatch. Pebble is paving the way for new features that won't be in the initial feature-set, too; although it uses Bluetooth 2.1 to connect currently, there's actually a Bluetooth 4.0 chip inside for lower-power wireless in the future, and there's an ambient light sensor which developers will also be able to tap into. On the software side, there's If This Then That integration for extra flexibility. Read on for more details.
