Twitter and The Echo Nest team on music tweet integration

Twitter has partnered with music app data company The Echo Nest to integrate tweets from recording artists into apps, siphoning in messages from verified musician accounts on the short-form social network and pushing them into music apps. The service will mean apps that show lyrics, gig photos, band information or other music-related data can now also pull in Twitter updates from relevant artists.

Cerevo LiveShell livestreams Contour+ wearable camera

Wearable camera company Contour and live-streaming firm Cerevo have partnered  to create the Cerevo LiveShell, a real-time video broadcasting adapter for the Contour+ camera. Hooking up via HDMI, the LiveShell can stream up to 480p video - the Contour+ can actually capture up to 1080p on its own - with remote control via a smartphone, tablet or PC. In fact, with a standard HDMI input, you can hook up many different camera types.

The PC renders the graphics, the Transformer Prime shows off the game, you play it.

Vizio XVT CinemaWide smart TVs mimic 21:9 theater experience

Vizio has unveiled its XVT Series CinemaWide HDTV line-up, a three-strong range of new LED LCD televisions that offer movie theater-style 21:9 aspect displays. Headlining the company's 2012 TV push, the XVT Series consists of the 50-inch XVT3D500CM, 58-inch XVT3D580CM and finally the 71-inch XVT3D710CM. All support smart TV functionality and 3D, using inexpensive passive 3D glasses.

Vizio has revealed its new Google TV range of HDTVs for 2012, the R-Series, with the company's Vizio Internet Apps Plus reskin of the Google platform delivering apps, search and streaming media in your living room. Consisting of the 42-inch R3D420VS, 47-inch R3D470VS, 55-inch R3D550VS and 65-inch R3D650VS, the R-Series line-up includes a dual-sided Bluetooth remote with a QWERTY keyboard on one side and a touchpad on the other, for easier navigation.

Qualcomm Skifta Media Shifting Platform to take on Sonos

Qualcomm has announced its Skifta Media Shifting Platform, a new push to get its DLNA/UPnP service into more home entertainment hardware, with the first kit to arrive being the Skifta Wireless Audio Adapter. Adding Skifta streaming support to existing home entertainment devices, the new adapter is set to drop sometime in the first half of this year. However, it's Skifta's upcoming hardware development kits and SDK that shoudl make the real difference, embedding the tech into wireless speakers, TVs, STBs, routers and NAS, and other A/V adapters.
