Parrot AR.Drone WiFi helicopter gets augmented reality iPhone control

We primarily know Parrot as a purveyor of all things Bluetooth, but now the French company is segueing into remote controlled devices.  The Parrot AR.Drone is a quadricopter - i.e. a four-propellor helicopter - that's packed with WiFi for remote-control from an iPhone or iPod touch, two video cameras (one for auto-pilot, another for streaming birds-eye footage back to the pilot) and various sensors and gyroscopes.  Parrot are also releasing an SDK so that developers can create games and other software such as augmented reality (AR).

Marvell ARMADA 610 app processor: 1080p, HDMI, 3D graphics, more

Along with the new Plug Computer 3.0, Marvell have also announced a new HD-capable chipset - the ARMADA 610 Application Processor - which promises a gigahertz-class CPU, Open GL ES 2.0 and 1.1 and Open VG support, full 1080p encode/decode and 3D graphics.  Marvell reckon the ARMADA 610 will find its way into future MIDs, e-readers and other always-on portable devices, which will take advantage of the application processor's various connectivity options including HDMI and USB 2.0.

Eye-Fi Pro X2 packs 8GB, 802.11n, Endless Memory; new desktop manager app released

Eye-Fi have updated their top-spec Eye-Fi Pro WiFi memory card with WiFi b/g/n support and twice the storage.  The new Eye-Fi Pro X2 packs 8GB of flash memory, together with 802.11n along with a redesigned antenna, into a Class 6 SD card form-factor, offering significantly faster uploads for images and video.  The company have also used the Pro X2 to introduce Endless Memory, whereby once an image is confirmed uploaded to a user's gallery, it's automatically deleted from the Eye-Fi card to save space.

If you have ever calibrated a TV for color accuracy you know how incredibly time consuming and frustrating it can be. There are a slew of options on the market which claim to make this process easier. Some of them are a complete waste of money and the ones that work well usually pack a pretty hefty price tag and include some sort of "eye" to aid in the calibration process. A company called Datacolor is bringing a new approach to the table in the form of HDMI tuning.

Lenovo Skylight Smartbook official: AT&T 3G, 1GHz Snapdragon & 10hrs battery

As expected, Lenovo have announced details of their first Smartbook - in fact the first ARM-based, Qualcomm Snapdragon smartbook in the industry - at CES 2010 this week, the Lenovo Skylight.  The 10.1-inch 1280 x 720 ultraportable has a 1GHz processor, integrated quadband 3G with AT&T service in the US, and battery life of over 10hrs.  Lenovo preload the Linux OS with various web widgets, including Amazon MP3 download access and YouTube.

Lenovo C310 and IdeaCentre A300 and K320 desktops & all-in-ones unveiled

While most of Lenovo's new CES 2010 range is made up of notebooks or netbooks, the company have a few desktops on offer too.  As well as an update to their entry-level all-in-one, the new Lenovo C310, there's a super-slim model - the Lenovo IdeaCentre A300 - measuring just 18.5mm deep while still packing a Full HD 21.5-inch display, and a new desktop tower, the Lenovo IdeaCentre K320 with Core i3, i5 or i7 processors.
