With numerous E-Readers on the market and many more to come at CES 2010 one in particular is trying to stand out from the crowd. Hearst Corp's Skiff digital media system and Sprint are going to be previewing their new 11.5 inch touchscreen e-reader at CES this year. Although there are many competitors, this particular reader has an ace up its sleeve: it has an 11.5 inch touchscreen microfoil display with a resolution of 1200x1600 making this the highest resolution E-Reader ever. It is also only a quarter inch thick making it the thinnest and largest E-Reader as well.

Freescale Smartbook Tablet reference revealed: $200 all-day 3G slate

The Smartbook promise is full connectivity and low price, and if Freescale can successfully sell their new Smartbook Tablet reference design to their OEM partners then it stands a good chance at delivering on both.  The 7-inch touchscreen slate has integrated WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 and optional 3G, and is powered by a Freescale i.MX515 applications chipset based on an ARM Cortex A8 CPU.  Best of all, they reckon pricing could realistically start at under $200.

Lenovo's ThinkPad T410s, T410/T510 and W510 notebooks aren't new, but the company has brought them up to date at CES 2010 with Intel's latest dual-core, Core i5 and Core i7 processors.  The T410s 14-inch ultraportable has a choice of Core i5-520M and i5-540M CPUs, along with the regular choices of HDD or SSD storage, up to 8GB of RAM, WiFi b/g/n, optional Bluetooth, 3G and WiMAX, while the ThinkPad T410/T510 throw the Core i7-620M into the mixture too.

Lenovo ThinkPad X100e brings AMD CULV to enterprise

Lenovo's ThinkPad X100e has broken cover, and while the company describes the 11.6-inch machine as their entry-level ultraportable, we'd be more inclined to pit it against CULV notebooks.  Whichever segment you assign it to, though, the X100e makes for an interesting machine: based on AMD's Athlon Neo single- and dual-core CPUs, together with Turion dual-cores, the notebook manages to fit in a full-sized keyboard.

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge gets official: optional 3G and WiMAX

Lenovo's CES 2010 range has been revealed, and heading the attack is the new Lenovo ThinkPad Edge.  A new series of 13, 14 and 15 inch machines, the Edge line-up is targeted at home buyers together with small and medium business users.  First up will be the 13.3-inch Edge using AMD's Turion and Athlon Neo dual core processors, but Intel CULV Core 2 Duo and regular Core 2 Duo CPUs will also be on offer across the range.  There's also optional Bluetooth, WiMAX and 3G to go along with the standard WiFi.

HP leak tips Pine Trail Mini 210 netbooks; Pavilion dv4i ultraportable; Core i5/i7 Elite desktops

CES 2010 doesn't kick off until mid-week, but some of HP's new products have seemingly leaked ahead of time.  Several desktops, notebooks and netbooks have been prematurely unveiled, complete with partial specifications and pricing, including a Pine Trail netbook, the HP Mini 210 HD Edition, and a 14-inch ultraportable, the HP Pavilion dv4i.  As for the desktops, Intel's Core i5 and i7 processors make appearances in multiple HP Pavilion Elite HPE machines.

It's January 1st 2010, and the entire SlashGear team wish all our readers a very Happy New Year.  Since it's a public holiday in the US we'll be giving you a break from our regular coverage; rest up, though, as we're facing a tech-packed seven days.  CES 2010 and Google's Android announcement are all fast approaching: read on for what we're expecting from the first full week of 2010...

The biggest event is undoubtedly CES 2010, and the SlashGear team will be on-site bringing you the latest hardware from the show floor, covering the press conferences and generally picking out the best of new consumer electronics.  Netbooks and Smartbooks look set to dominate many of the announcements, pitting Intel's latest Pine Trail Atom processors against low-power, high-performance mobile chipsets from Qualcomm, Freescale and others.   We're also expecting to see some non-notebook form-factors, perhaps finally delivering to the mainstream the MIDs, UMPCs and Tablets that have so long been promised.

Logic Wireless has unveiled the Logic Bolt V 1.5, the company’s second generation projector phone. Back in January of this year, Logic Wireless debuted the Logic Bolt V 1.0 at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show, which contained the first ever phone-integrated projector capable of projecting phone media content on any surface up to 60 inches. The newly revamped Logic Bolt V 1.5 produces images of native 640×480 resolution up to 64-inches in screen size.
