CES 2008: Emtrace Technologies credit-card sized Widget display

Emtrace Technologies were showing off their credit-card sized widget viewer, Photoskins, at CES Unveiled, and has won a CES Best of Innovations award for the ultra-compact real-time media display.  A mere 4.7mm thick and made from glossy black ABS plastic and aluminium with a 2.5-inch LCD TFT screen, it can display photos downloaded from a variety of online media sites such as Flickr and Picasa.    Read The Full Story

e-detail isn't a Tablet PC manufacturer I'm familiar with, but their latest slate-style machines - the 12.1-inch Prezenter PSR and the 14.1-inch Multi-Web PAD - are likely to get some attention thanks to each having not one but two touchscreens.  Intended for presentations, where the audience would watch the full-sized screen, each device also has a seven-inch mini touchscreen so that the presenter can keep track of his topic.   Read The Full Story

CES 2008: Pioneer Project KURO is 9mm-thick plasma TV

Is a TV too thin when you can cut yourself on it?  We're not quite at that stage yet, but Pioneer are getting there with their Project KURO plasma TV: at just 9mm deep it's the thinnest yet.  They've also managed to achieve 'extreme contrast' - i.e. black sections of the screen emit no light whatsoever - and all in something a whopping 50-inches across.
