Casio “digital art” photo frame prototypes promise passive entertainment

Casio aren't planning to follow Sony down the path of interactive digital photo frames - as Sony have done with their Dash, adding Chumby widget support - but instead see the devices as a passive form of entertainment.  In an interview with Tech-On!, Casio described their intent as turning the digital picture frame into the "third screen", one which can "sensitively adapt to the users' lives and environments."  They've also put together a prototype to show that passive doesn't have to mean passé. Casio EX-S7 and EX-Z35 EXILIM digital cameras debuted

Casio EX-10HG hybrid-GPS digicam coming October for $400

Casio's concept GPS-enabled camera, shown at CES 2010 last month, has been given a release schedule and estimated price tag.  Photography Bay have been pestering Casio for details at PMA 2010, and the company have confirmed that the Casio EX-10HG is expected to go on sale in October this year, costing around $400. Casio EXILIM EX-H10: 12.1MP and 10x zoom in skinny frame

It's seems to be a morning of digital cameras, with Casio the latest to whip out their pocket-snapper.  The Casio EXILIM EX-H10 has a 12.1-megapixel CCD paired with a 24mm 10x optical zoom, and while it may not have the AMOLED panel of the Samsung WD1000 it does manages to squeeze a similarly-sized 3-inch LCD into its sub-1-inch thick chassis.   Read The Full Story
