In the spirit of fellow SlashGear columnist Michael Gartenberg, who recently published his own list of “5 Gadgets That Changed The World For Me,” I decided to tackle my own version of this list. While Michael’s list tended towards gadgets that made a huge impact the gadget world as a whole, these are five gadgets that were not so universally important, but had a significant impact on the way I was shaped as a person, and not just as a gadget fiend.
Projectors still exist, and they're not just for the education market, or sports bar. They're perfectly suitable for your living room, where you can indulge in a wall-full of your favorite video game, if you so desire. But, we understand that there's just something gratifying about showing everyone you know your brand new HDTV. But, what if you could get all of that for the same price, roughly, but have so much more space to work with?

Casio’s G-Shock watch line has a strong pedigree and an equally strong following, ranging from affordable models for those who simply want to pay a little and get a sturdy, shockproof timepiece all the way to more expensive, feature-packed models. Casio aren't planning to follow Sony down the path of interactive digital photo frames - as Sony have done with their Dash, adding Chumby widget support - but instead see the devices as a passive form of entertainment. In an interview with Tech-On!, Casio described their intent as turning the digital picture frame into the "third screen", one which can "sensitively adapt to the users' lives and environments." They've also put together a prototype to show that passive doesn't have to mean passé.

Amidst all of the cameras that we saw unveiled at PMA 2010 over the last few weeks Casio quietly slipped a couple new cameras into its EXILIM line. The two new cameras are point-and-shoot units with a bevy of automatic features for easy use called the EX-S7 and the EX-Z35.

Casio's concept GPS-enabled camera, shown at CES 2010 last month, has been given a release schedule and estimated price tag. Photography Bay have been pestering Casio for details at PMA 2010, and the company have confirmed that the Casio EX-10HG is expected to go on sale in October this year, costing around $400.

Casio Japan have unleashed a pair of new digital cameras, the Exilim EX-Z450 and EX-Z90, each toting 12.1-megapixels and various automated features which hope to take the setting-headache out of point-and-shoot photography. The two snappers can each identify faces together with working out the best settings for landscapes, pets, fast-moving objects or other subjects.

It's seems to be a morning of digital cameras, with Casio the latest to whip out their pocket-snapper. The Casio EXILIM EX-H10 has a 12.1-megapixel CCD paired with a 24mm 10x optical zoom, and while it may not have the AMOLED panel of the Samsung WD1000 it does manages to squeeze a similarly-sized 3-inch LCD into its sub-1-inch thick chassis.
