When you’ve got a design for a watch as ubiquitous as the Casio G-Shock on the market, you’re allowed to be late to the new technology party. This year Casio’s entry in the STB-100 comes in the form of Bluetooth 4.0 and a sports-tracking collection of bits and pieces in their slightly modified G-Shock design. While we’re not about to suggest this watch is in any way more all-inclusive than its smartwatch competitors from Sony, Samsung, Pebble, and the many others shown off this week at CES 2014, Casio still retains that built-in fan base they’ve cultivated for years.

Casio EXILIM EX-ZR800 introduced with 18x optical zoom and OIS

Casio has unveiled a new digital camera in its EXILIM line, the EX-ZR800. With this new camera comes 18x optical zoom and a 5-stop/5-axis image stabilization, as well as several other features commonly found on point-and-shoot compact cameras. Although the European announcement doesn't specify the launch date, the company's Japanese division says it will be launched on August 23.

Casio's Bluetooth 4.0 smartwatch plans are nearing fruition, with the first pairing of a low-power wireless watch and Android smartphone headed to Japan's NTT DoCoMo in the next few days. The NEXT MEDIA PP N-01D offers the usual Japanese niceties, like a 4-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen, wireless charging, 8.1-megapixel camera, along with water and dust resilience, but can be paired with a special Casio MEDIAS PP-SHOCK GB-6900 watch. Hooked up via a frugal Bluetooth 4.0 connection, the watch shows incoming call and email information, as well as allowing you to reject incoming calls.
