Cases purported to be for the rumored fourth-generation iPod nano and second-generation iPod touch have appeared on Alibaba (here, here and here).  Made from silicon, and seemingly tallying with the leaked image we’ve seen recently, the design for the nano suggests Apple would be going back to its earlier, long & thin form-factor.

NZXT have taken the wraps off of their latest E-ATX PC case, which pretty much sets its stall out by its name: Whisper.  Claiming it “sets a new standard for silent computing performance”, NZXT have outfitted the Whisper with nine HDD bays and a variety of padding and rubberized mounts to reduce escaping noise.

If you feel like rocking out to some tunes while going for your daily swim, now you can with the H2OAudio Amphibx Waterproof Armband. It’s large enough for many different types of MP3 players, including the iPod and iPhone, and the arm strap keeps this case from floating away.

Case manufacturer Antec has taken the wraps off of its latest HTPC case, together with a new range of “Multimedia Station” add-ons to make existing computers more home-entertainment friendly.  The Micro Fusion Remote 350 is compact 4.5 x 15.1 x 16.1-inches and includes an aluminium front panel with IR receiver, remote control and LCD display.  Inside, Antec have separated the motherboard from the included 350W power supply in a dual-chamber design it claims reduces noise, as well as provided silicone grommets for quiet-mounting hardware.

These girly accessories for your DS look a bit like cosmetic cases. It actually also includes a screen cleaner that looks identical to a compact for your face powder. I do like that although the case is overly feminine, it isn’t the usual bright pink.

Lian Li have taken the (small) wraps off of a new multimedia I/O bezel for their high-end cases.  The BZ-U02 has the usual USB 2.0 ports, Firewire and audio in/out, but also adds eSATA for plugging in high-speed external hard-drives.

When you’re overclocking, or even just have a higher-end gaming rig, you probably like to know just how hot things are getting inside your case. More so with overclocking, as you tend to run the risk of pushing your components a little to far and frying them due to the excessive heat. Usually your motherboard will come with a nice hardware monitoring utility, but I don’t generally like those, as they take up valuable real estate on my desktop. Not to mention you can’t always check temps during a gaming session without minimizing your screen. I prefer hardware gauges, such as the new Sentry LX from NZXT, which I have had the pleasure of using.

I’ve always thought of a person’s PC case as something of form of self-expression. Often you can find a bit out about the person, and the PC simply by looking at their case. If a person isn’t big into gaming or performance, they will generally have a stock case, or a plain ATX chassis. PC gamers will generally go for a case with plenty of cooling, and a specific look that suits them. The new Guardian 921 from NZXT definitely lets everyone know that you’re a gamer.

The chassis looks sleek with just the right amount of curves, angles and blue lighting effects to look awesome, without overdoing it. It is crafted from .88mm/1.00mm steel and has a spacious interior for installing a variety of drives and larger video cards. You’ll also find a slew of peripheral connectors which always come in handy. You’ll be able to monitor your system temperature with three different temp probes, while three large 120mm fans keep things cool and quiet.

betseyy thumb 220x178If you have a thing for the designer Betsey Johnson, then Best Buy has a new line of gadget accessories you might be interested in.  It features several different styles and sizes of cases to fit all of your small electronics.

They not only have several iPod cases, but a camera, phone and set of laptop cases as well.  All three of the laptop bags will hold a laptop up to 15.4”.  The iPod cases will hold either the Touch or the Classic.  It doesn’t seem that they have any to fit the Nano.

The camera has both a small and medium size, whereas the phone cases will fit most smaller phones.  The prices range from about $20 all the way up to $140.  The camera cases happen to be cheaper than usual as of now.

Although this latest iPhone/iPod case may appear to be something you’d pick up at the local craft show, this cute little frog is actually being mass produced. This isn’t exactly a chic case to have around, but you have to admit, it is kind of cute.
