Shuttle D10 touchscreen HTPC case demo video

Shuttle’s D10 case has been receiving all manner of compliments recently, with many people very able to envisage a compact HTPC with integrated 7-inch 800 x 600 touchscreen fitting nicely into their lives. Aside from Akihabara came across the D10 just prior to its Japanese launch, and you can see their demo video after the cut.

Wall-mounted Six PC Custom Render-Farm

If you’ve got to have a six-PC render farm for your business, you might as well make it look good. Designer Fredrik Perman moved offices in North Carolina, and decided to put his six Intel dual-core PCs up on the wall of the lobby in a custom plexiglass case. Lighting is from LED fans and ten 10-inch cold-cathode tubes hidden behind the aluminium frame.

Antec Skeleton case: a Convertible for your Core

The Antec Skeleton case almost seems to be a contradiction in terms, as for your money you don’t actually get much casing. What you do get is a 250mm fan mounted on top of an arched framework, with a slide-out motherboard tray and, underneath, space for your PSU and drives. Antec are saying it provides “unprecedented airflow”, which I suppose is accurate unless up until now you’ve left your PC components lying around on a window-ledge.

The ASUS VENTO TA-M1 was introduced and this PC case can stand up to some serious heat. A front-mounted fan can be used as well as a rear and two side fans that measure up to 4.7 inches in diameter.

Rosewill Conqueror WSL PC case: SlashGear Review

It’s a difficult time to be a PC case manufacturer. As more mainstream users choose notebooks over desktops, and the choice of high-powered gaming laptops gets broader and cheaper, there are fewer customers to go around. In the end, all you can do is innovate or price your product hard: with their new Conquerer WSL, Rosewill have concentrated most on the latter, with a few nods to the former.

Silicon iPod nano 4G case adds more weight to Apple rumors

Today it’s a pair of silicon skins from manufacturer Jivo, the box-copy for which proclaims them specially crafted for Apple’s next-gen nano, and from what we can see of the form-factor a decent match for the general consensus around what the upcoming PMP will look like.

Lian Li XB01: quieter DVD playback but gaming still loud

With the ink on an extended warranty to cover Red Ring of Death incidents only just dry, it might seem crazy to take apart your XBox 360 – voiding the guarantee in the process – and decant the contents into a new casing.
