Street Fighter V PC update included rootkit, now pulled over malware concerns

But those playing the fighting game on PC noticed that they got something extra for their platform: a rootkit that allows any application access to the PC's kernel.

Resident Evil: Vendetta trailer offers first look at CG movie

Late last week, Capcom released some still images from the movie Resident Evil: Vendetta, promising to show off the movie’s first trailer at the Tokyo Game Show. That happened early yesterday morning, and now the footage has made its way to YouTube, giving fans their first look at the film. If all goes as planned, the movie will be hitting theaters (in Japan, at least) next spring, presenting established characters in a new storyline.

New Resident Evil 7 details include trailer and demo update

With the Tokyo Game Show currently underway in, well, Tokyo, developer Capcom has used the event to reveal new details and media on Resident Evil 7 biohazard. The most exciting bit is that the "Beginning Hour" teaser demo that was first released in June on PS4 has received a free update that adds new areas to explore. Also neat is that the PS Plus requirement has been dropped, so now anyone can download the latest version of the demo at no cost.

Resident Evil 7 biohazard's release date is coming up quickly, and ahead of that Capcom has answered a big question prospective buyers have had: will the game support the PlayStation 4 Pro's HDR gaming and 4K capabilities? The answer is yes, at least per a tweet Capcom sent out on its Twitter account in recent days. That's great news for those who are upgrading to Sony's latest and greatest PlayStation console, especially considering the incredible graphics Capcom has been teasing for its upcoming game.

We recently learned that Dead Rising 4 is in the works, but for those who are new to the series and want to see how it all began, Capcom has you covered. The developer confirmed today that the original Dead Rising will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC, while Dead Rising 2 and its spin off, Off the Record, will be getting the same treatment, only without a PC release. Capcom confirmed the existence of these re-releases after a PS4 trophy list for the original Dead Rising was leaked.

In late February, Capcom announced that it would be releasing Resident Evil 4, 5, and 6 this year for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. All has been quiet since, up until today. The current-gen launch date for Resident Evil 4 has been announced: August 30. When that day roles around, fans will be able to get the title for their newest Xbox or PS4, though it won’t be remastered for the latest hardware. It will, however, include all of the game's bonus content.
